ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

The worst thing is they almost ignored Juve/Heysel on the aniversary.

On the last anniversary of Heysel I posted on facebook saying that it should be remembered more across the wider footballing family, not only for the lives lost but for the way it helped to change football off the pitch.

Cue a string of quite vicious comments from Liverpool fans, even after I pointed out that they had at least put an article up on their official site and that I was talking about the media/general football fans. There wasn't anything on the major football sites or football forums I visited.

“When I found out New York was on our pre-season schedule I wanted us, as a club, to come and pay our respects where the World Trade Center once stood and hear some of the emotional, distressing, powerful but also inspiring accounts of that fateful day.

Of course you did you horse toothed nob head, Its wasn't the clubs PR machine that decided you would go to ground zero and whip out some LFC shirts, No it was you, Mr humble, Mr righteous, Mr I make footballers better people

You should have told everyone about the time you got your teeth done, Got a nice tan then cheated on your wife and dropped her like a stone for a young model you slimy horrible rat

I thought that first thing this morning. What really sickened me was the photo holding up the shirts to present to the firefighters reps and grinning like morons. Most clubs pay tribute on tour, be it to a local disaster or worthy cause and its a tangible way of showing respect. This shower do the same and that's fine. However, each and every time, they have to turn it into a gurning mass peacock display of attention seeking. Its disgusting and shows clearly that no one, be it on the Press Liaison/PR side or at any level has the barometer to say... hang on a minute, should we really be acting like this.

A couple of those pictures are disgusting. What a shower of complete tasteless knobheads they are. If ever anyone ever needs proof why you were fortunate to avpid being a Kopite its moments like this that ahow you why. Classless, Clueless and ashamed of nothing.

There's something sickening about that particular photo. All other football enmities aside - to stand at a garden of remembrance for a mass slaughter advertising your business with beaming smiles is just about as low as it can get.

This is the worst one for me. Was there any part of this mourn-porn that wasn't staged? Alright Brendan, we're going to catch you mid-wreath laying, now give me solemn. Give me reflective. That's great Brendan, it's important that people don't forget the real heroes on this sad and mournful afternoon. Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool football club.

That article they put up on their website actually sympathised with those travelling Kopites who had their trip ruined when a "wall collapsed".

I kid you not.
