Rodgers on Lambert:

How does an England international settle for that? It's not like he's gone to Barcelona, Madrid or Bayern Munich. That's pretty poor accepting such a limited role.

Even if it was his intention to use him as a first reserve, it's hardly motivational telling the press that he's going to spend most of the season sat on his hoop - irrespective of performance level.

He's playing to the crowd again, as the cult have already started slating Big Lambo, as have some of the RS pundits in the media.

That translates into when one type of hoofball hasn't worked throw Lambrino on and aim for his head

Calling him third rate - all part of the 'improving players' Brent is famous for.

Plan A - Punt it down the channels

Plan B - Punt it to Tugboat

Thats what that comment from the bellend on Tugboat Ricky is all about. To simplify it.

I reckon it will be one more trophyless season before the chants of 'Dalglish' come back. If Brendan goes 3 seasons without a trophy surely they wont still revere him like a god. Previous managers have been fired for less. This season is make or break for him and without Suarez to gloss over the gaping quality gap in their squad I think it will be a hilarious car crash. Der best fans in der world will be patient though won't they? They all believe in der filosofee.
He got them CL which will buy him at least another season and a half. Let's see how they manage this year without Suarez and with european matches to contest. I think he'd have to finish outside the top 7 and without a trophy to be at any real risk of being sacked. Even if they did finish that low if they made it out of their CL group it'd probably be enough to keep him through the summer.

As far as I'm concerned the longer that fraud is in charge of them, the better.

Liverpool have completed their seventh signing of the summer after landing Javier Manquillo on an unusual two-year loan from Atlético Madrid. The 20-year-old defender underwent a medical on Merseyside earlier this week and has finalised a transfer from the Spanish champions that may allow Liverpool to make the deal permanent, for a fee of around £5m, should he settle in English football. Atlético can break the loan arrangement and recall Manquillo for a fee next summer while Liverpool have an option to buy the player outright in 2016.

The defender added: “When they tell you Liverpool want to sign you, like any player, you are going to be absolutely amazed and you don’t think of anything else other than going straight there.”

That is him nailed on for cult status, as the best Spanish Cafu right back in the world.

He's obviously been told about the Joe Cole story...'If you wanna future ere wid us lad you read exactly what's on dis card at the prezza, Shanks wrote it lad, bootroom an tha, five times Ynwa'.

Liverpool have always valued having that big lanky, and mostly useless, CF it would seem. I was watching highlights of their humping at the hands of Chelsea in 2005/06, and they had Peter Crouch, being lanky and useless.

He was just on the team that won the Copa del Rey, La Liga, and made the final of the Champions League. I bet he is really amazed at how Liverpool won the League at Christmas time then.

Strange thing is after Daglish made a right mess of things, the fans still think he is King Kenny, how deluded can they get.

As mentioned by @peteblue he was probably their best player ever, and secondly, his behaviour and actions immediately after the Hillsborough Disaster will always stand him in good stead with me. Sadly I think the impact of the disaster and the aftermath makes Dalglish the man he is today, a pale, almost pathetic shadow of his former self.
