Coutinho is just the same type of player as Pienaar. Tidy, busy, tricky, similar positionally (false inside midfield number 10 and a half), but has little product.
Pienaar is an important player for us imo (save it for a different thread, lads), but they seem to think Coutinho is one of the best playmakers in the world, who can unlock a defence at will.
Difference is we don't elevate Pienaar to more than he is. Many of us don't even like him!
Sterling is ok like, but still nowhere near what they make him out as. Proper hot and cold player at the moment, but that might change as he gets a bit older.

Sterling is Aaron Lennon. He was overrated for a while too because of his pace. He'll get more attention this season with Teeth gone and he'll look bang average.
Last season Sterling had the 3rd highest successful dribbles in the Prem at 2.8 per game, but was dispossessed on average 2 per game.
Hazard and Suarez had more successful dribbles 3.8 and 2.8 respectively but Hazard was dispossessed 2.3 and Suarez 1.8.
Barkley had 2.4 successful dribbles per game but was dispossessed 1.7 per game.
Sterling has a long way to go to emulate Messi who was successful with 4.6 dribbles per game but was dispossessed on average 2.2 per game.

And like Joe Cole will toe the cult's line in proclaiming LFC the greatest thing since sliced bread.
