Who will ever forget Negritogate?

A whole football club's fanbase turning themselves into professors of linguistics to try and tortuously make a case to the effect calling someone a n*gg*r was an act of camaraderie.

Has there ever been a bigger case of mass hysteria and delusion revolving around football?

The arse dropped out of that club with that incident. They've used last years H'boro anniversary to claw back a lot of ground, but the stink of racism still hangs onto them.

They are now professors of finance.....

RAWK..

"I reckon his clause was £65m.

However, because Barca couldn't pay all that upfront, they offered us £10m in add ons to in order to let them
Pay in instalments.

It may be that the add ons are a foregone conclusion (CL qualification for example) but it allows Barca to report a lower figure (which they seem very keen to do to distance themselves from the real approach..... Even though their approach is now exactly the same)."

Love the way yet again the RS collectively, whoever they are, never see the whole debacle of Gerrard v Chelsea. Damage limitation in saying, like Gerrard does himself, "anyone can slip". The pre-quel to "the slip" is the clumsy, per usual ten to two feet mis-control he effects...this is never referred to of course by anyone even tenuously linked to the smoke and mirrors of the LFC Funhouse.

RAWK reaction to £65M for the subhuman - a mixture of anger and denial:

That bite and ban drove his price down but no way should we have sold for less than the release clause.

£65m then we've been had quite frankly. Surely we wouldn't have been stupid enough to sell that much under true value.

I wouldn’t take anything a Spanish club say publically seriously. Remember Neymar, it was later revealed the full extent of that deal which was a lot more costly then Barca had previously said.

The president said the release clause was £75m and they negotiated us down. We should not have budged one bit. £65m is no where near his value even after the bite.

I can’t believe they managed to negotiate 10m off the deal, I'd be disgusted to find out that’s true. It could be something to do with how the deal is structured. Let’s see what the reliable UK sources have to say on it.

I see it as £65m upfront, with a further £10m in add ons that will almost certainly be triggered.

I'm really not fused if it's only £65m, or if we get more in add ons, or if we did some deal to avoid loyalty payments. The best thing for us was getting paid and getting it done quick.

I wouldn't believe a word they say. And to be honest if they were any sort of class club they would keep their traps shut about these sorts of details.

It was £75 million. If Barca offered less than the clause we would've told them to [Poor language removed] off.

I reckon his clause was £65m.

So we only got £65m for Luis. What a [Poor language removed] steal for Barca.

Then can flail in their usual manner all they want, but I cant see why theyre too shocked at this. It was hardly done quickly as some of them suggest. They had convinced themselves they were getting £85m+ for him then went on their own little dream world of who they were going to buy - just like kids in November eyeing up the Xmas toys in the Argos catalogue. They should have known with the way the negotiations were drawn out that Barca weren't going to be mugs....they were the only ones who wanted him..and they were the only club he wanted to go to. This is the after taste for them now...and whatever they say, they cant argue that they've been done - good and proper.

You'd imagine the fee is now irrelevant since they were in talks with Barca before the World Cup, you'd think they'd be more angry with the quality of players they've bought in to replace him considering this was going on for quite a while.

While they where in talks to sell him to Barca they were lining up Lambert as his replacement lol

You would think so too. Looking at their reaction though the players they brought in seem to have taken the sting out of this £10M-£20M more for Suarez they were boasting about a few weeks back now not being there. It's the sheer numbers they brought in that's pacified them.

When will that lot ever learn they have an atrocious record in the transfer market buying loads of mediocre players in one fell swoop?

They have spent £10m more than;

Hull, Spurs, QPR, Sunderland, Swansea, WBA, Leicester, Villa, Stoke, Palace, & Burnley.

Combined.

Or double what City have spent. (FFP, I know.)

So far this window.

Crikey.

It could well be that the fee was going to be £75m before the world cup, with the whole biting incident & ban dropping the fee by £10m.

If so, hahahahahahahahaahahahaha
