Joe Allen

“We can be too honest and too fair at times,” the midfielder said. “It can be seen as a good thing but at this level you need to be clever at times. At times we can maybe stop things at source and save ourselves a lot of trouble.”

Two games in and the excuses are out in force

Liverpool have bought works in progress, Chelsea and Manchester City have signed finished products

The Premier League title race already looks like a two-horse race, with Liverpool undergoing a transition period and not looking capable of overhauling either team

Liverpool are not at City and Chelsea’s level yet because the difference between the three clubs is two of them are interested only in buying finished products while the other persists in a policy of pursuing works in progress.
The consequence of eight new additions – two in the defence against City and all in need of ‘adaptation’ as Rodgers put it – is Liverpool will undergo another transitional period. Its briefness or otherwise will determine if this campaign is solely about preserving top four status or keeping tabs with the top two.

How on earth are any of lovren, lalana or lambert works in progress or for the future, none are kids like, nor for that matter is the italian nutjob, starting for city then milan isnt a work in progress, markovic is for the future but lad won the portugeuse league and reached a european final and for 20m isnt for the future its someone who should already be ready, 2 spanish fullbacks and a german international as well, if hes buying for tge future hes doing a bad job like, 130m invested would up a team from mid table to top 4 challenge, yet that invested into last years team minus suarez shows just how big average their team from last year was shorn of suarez

think Lambert must still have his best years ahead of him or something

I am though Roy me old mate. They are rivals with Everton and United. But why do they have beef with Spurs?

Other than they play them next, no idea. But there was probably some incident that caused them to march/make banners/lay a wreath that had something to do with a Spurs player from 300 years ago.

Or maybe the last old dear to die so they could buy her house for the new stand thing once went to London. Expect thats it.
