ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

The way they can pull wins seemingly out of nowhere is something that both impresses me and makes me fume in equal measure

They've always been like that....hence my late brother calling them the jammy spawn of the devil. Its never impressed me though to be honest...and this latest one doesn't either. The much heralded, paraded, loadsamoney posturing and the world beating squad hes put together....yet they have to scrape a win against a team that was thought as the whipping boys of the group. The pressure is very much on them to deliver this season - their talisman wont 'go again' beyond this season (and that penalty doesn't tart up the fact that hes knackered) and time is running out for his holy grail of the Premiership.

They were awful last night, same as they were on Saturday.

As predicted in the summer, without Suarez they're simply not the same side, he was the catalyst for their success last season.

They'll get a tough game at WHU on Saturday night, I can see them struggling again, as they looked very good at Hull on Monday.

Oh the RAWK meltdown if they lose...potential comedic heaven!

They did well at Hull and their tails will be up. I can imagine Rodgers trying to shore things up (in his mind anyway) and play Lucas ahead of Coutinho who Gerrard ragged for errors last night according to the papers (I didn't watch it). Can see him getting sent off there when W Ham pile it on.

I always try and be reasonable when it comes to football so I'll just say, didn't it take them a good few games last season to start looking a threat?

I personally think they have bought too many 'decent' players rather than getting in the genuine article like the other team that play in red but have no CL footy to offer *cough cough Di Maria* *cough cough Falcao*.

I didn't watch last night's game, I was far more interested in Dortmund v Arsenal rather than another silent night at Anfield where you can hear the old fellas drinking their PG Tips. I did hear that they were pretty awful though, especially Coutinho (who is better than Silva on his day, according to our bitter friends at RAWK) and Lallana La.
It did.

Until Suarez returned and got match fit. They looked off the pace (but still fluked a number of wins) early last season while he was still serving his suspension. They had a few 1-0 wins, a draw, and a loss before running into dross (early season Palace/Sunderland) then Suarez was back.

Hopefully without that catalyst, they'll never kick on this year.

Did anybody else notice how frustrated Balotelli got at times? I'm thinking that its only going to be so long before something gives.
