Apparently, just in case anyone might miss this incredible (soon to be out-of-contract) footballer-plans-to-move-to-another-club-shock-news it'll be all over the papers, 24 page Footy Echo special, front page, back page of national papers. All this palaver over a player who never landed the biggest trophy available for him to win in the whole of his career. Unreal.

Talent wise he's the modern era's Bryan Robson....although even Robbo landed two titles.

Has there ever been so much praise given to a more mediocre 'legend' and all round tvvat of a human being?

haha i really hate gerrard, as well as being the biggest hypocrit the premier league as seen and the worst england captain, he's also a compulsive lier. he's saying his decision was made because he was told he would start fewer games! he's started pretty much every game this season hasn't he? who does he think he is that he deserves to be starting?

the fact of the matter is, he's failed continually to win a league title over here and has given up so wants to move away to a sunny country and possibly bag a mediocre league title to claim he "won the lot". why can't he just state the truth? as if anyone would have any gripes.

or maybe he wasn't offered a contract because he's not good enough anymore? now he's trying to turn it into all his decision malarky and the boss can't dispite it because he's his landlord?

I'd argue a Champions League trophy is bigger but the point stands. It's as if they're immortalizing a player who isn't dead yet.
