Gnashers can waffle all he wants about Mario in training. He bought him.
If I remember correctly, an Italian journalist once remarked that Mario is an enigma in football; completely unique. It went along the lines of...

'Everyone is happy when he arrives, but even happier when he leaves'. Is it possible to sum him up with a truer remark?

Really it has to come a time when people actually realise that it is nigh on impossible to change this lad. Mancini and Jose tried and failed.

Rodgers, once again over estimating his man management skills with over extending optimism, has also tried failed.

I was going to remark it is a shame, but it is isn't. He's a fraud who has taken far too many people in with his apparent 'potential'.

You may have the potential, however turning that into performances is where it is judged. He should just carry a swag back and admit it.

none of them failed with him quite spectacularly as rodgers

Quite true and all because they're better managers than Rodgers. A good manager cannot handle him; a mediocre manager will be embarrassed.

Who? Me?

rodgers couldnt control him from day one
I think partly the problem isn't just being able to control him, yet rather he was never the correct option in the first place. That's Rodgers fault.

Last season, Liverpool were successful as they played with explosive counter-attacking football. They let teams have the ball, pressed and broke.

Now when Suarez left, they brought in Lambert and Balotelli as replacements. Do either posses pace? Are they players who run onto balls? Nay.

We talk about square pegs and round holes at Everton, yet Rodgers tried to jimmy a bloody useless rock into his hole (no Rodgers pun intended).

Not being the most hard-working or adaptive players, Mario was never going to near succeed at Liverpool unless they adapted their formation.

That's not taking into consideration that he isn't as good as people make out. Rodgers and Balotelli are made for each other: clueless.

Hang on.

Rodgers taught Balotelli where to stand at corners he's not all bad ffs.

There goes Mario

Thrown under a bus

@davek

Always happens with Rodgers, as soon as he gets the smallest bit of good form going he puts on this smug narcissistic aura as though he's Shankley or something and the ultimate judge of players and likes to make out that any rubbish players he's splurged their money on aren't part of 'his group' and that they're in some way unprofessional. Then when its not going well for him he just likes to whine that he hasn't received enough money or that the grass is too long.

Listened to him on the radio this morning, basically whinged that the Bolton lad not getting sent off in the second half was the defining moment,I mean christ you've got 90 minutes at home v a championship side and you can't beat them, maybe you should look a little closer to home Brenda?lol

Mario Balotelli has completed his £16million move from AC Milan to Liverpool on a three-year deal
The former Manchester City striker will earn £125,000-a-week at Anfield...........

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers
also told the
club website:
'This transfer represents outstanding value for the club and I think we have done a really smart piece of business here.
'There is no doubting Mario's ability; he is a world-class talent and someone who, for such a young age, has vast experience of playing at the very highest level.

....exactly five months, + £2,500,000 wages later......

SkySports The Sunday Supplement 25/1/15 TODAY

Mario Balotelli days at Liverpool could well be numbered, says Andy Dunn

Andy Dunn admitted he would not be surprised if enigmatic striker Mario Balotelli has played his last game in a Liverpool shirt.

Dunn of the Sunday Mirror, told Sunday Supplement that he believes that after a conversation with Rodgers, Balotelli’s days on Merseyside could be numbered.

The Sunday Supplement believe Mario Balotelli's Liverpool career is all but over after his omission from their FA Cup squad
“Brendan Rodgers explained exactly what was wrong – that he felt Balotelli could not play the high pressing game that Liverpool favour and the implication was that in training he was far less impressive than many others there including teenager Jordan Rossiter, who was on the bench yesterday,” he said.
“Brendan said that if you are not at it in training everyday then you won’t be in the squad, and that is what has happened to Balotelli.
“Liverpool have been playing without a conventional striker, and Balotelli can’t even get on the bench.
“Brendan said he was confident that Balotelli will respond in training, but when has Balotelli ever taken on board any message?
“For me his days are numbered, and I would not be surprised if we don’t see Mario Balotelli in a Liverpool shirt again.
“What I do not understand is if Liverpool want to play that high pressing game, have they not been watching Balotelli for the last three or four years? That is just not his game. Why sign him? Whose signing was it?”
Balotelli completed a £16million to Anfield in the summer after being linked with several clubs around Europe following a stint back in his native Italy with AC Milan.
Sean Custis of The Sun openly questioned the wisdom of signing the 24-year-old after so many problems off the pitch.
“When he was mooted at £30million in the summer, Brendan Rodgers immediately said no way, we are not interested, we don’t want to sign him,” Custis said.
“Then the rumours escalated, and when £16million was mentioned Rodgers changed his mind.
“It seems like the money men at Liverpool have a fair influence over their manager, and said this is good value for money.
“Brendan obviously thought he could reinvigorate Balotelli, and if it works, he can prove what a good manager he is.

“I do wonder why Rodgers can’t try and get more out of him.”
