ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Him and his mate, posh boy Pearce, are perfect apostles for the cult's messiah.

They present even the worse times under Rodgers as a mere prelude to the rebirth of the faith...redemption always follows a falling from grace.

They're proper fruitcake zealots the pair of them. And they feel they have to write that way too or they'll be stoned as apostates by the rest of the cult.

It's all very creepy and biblical over there at that club and its hangers on. A very sinister organisation. They're just not decent...not decent at all.

I'm all for laughing at the RS this season. But thats just embarassing.

You an tell Amir Khan doesn't watch any football, if he is getting coached by an excuse for a footballer, that finds it difficult to pass the ball more than 5 yards with any accuracy.

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson, 24, has been working on his fitness by taking boxing tips from Amir Khan and in return he has been teaching the boxer how to play football. Mirror.

Probably tell that Horrenderson doesn't watch much boxing either, one faux hard man getting boxing lessons off another.

Hopefully someone sparks his lights out in a similar fashion that Prescott and Garcia did Khan's.

Oh, be such a glorious sight.

Fixed them?! He friggin broke them!
He broke them in the run in to last season...then he fixed them in the summer...then he broke them in the first 12 games of the season...now he's fixed them again in the last 13 games.

It'll be that way all the time while he's at Liverpool. He's a loser. He'll win nothing because he's inconsistent and cant build long term.

How Brendan Rodgers fixed broken Liverpool.

Or put differently: what happens when you bed in players who cost £130M to buy in the summer....and the 'fixed' Liverpool are still 7th in a four horse race.

The spin they put on stuff for Liverpool at that paper compared to the dogs*** reporting they give Everton.

The echo is a kopite rag. Any paper that keeps James Pearce in employment is a joke. Sadly if we did our talking on the pitch they'd be forced to choke something out like they do every time we've finished ahead of their favourite team. Sadly we give them too much ammunition. There's only so many ways you can write that Liverpool didn't win the league, re out of the champions league, are out of the league cup and are in 7th. The Echo is contributing towards the dumbing down of Kopite's expectations. In 6 months they've gone from crying at not winning the league to celebrating being in 7th because they've got a sniff of fourth, all of this after spending close to 100 million net. Brilliant work Rodgers - he made the people happy.

He fixed them by leading them from 2nd in the table to 7th. What a guy. Imagine if you hired a plumber to fix a leak on your toilet and he ended up flooding the bathroom, covering the place in sh!t. I imagine that guy would rightly be lauded as a genius

The usual Kristian Walsh gushing bulls***....written like a 14 year old obsessed fan.

"The importance of being Raheem Sterling...the simplicity of his character makes it incomprehensible his contract is yet to be sorted...." So 'Bren'll Fix It' actually hasn't ....and hasn't he said But we are certainly not a club that is going to give out way, way above what a player is worth at a certain time of his career." ??

"Defeat to Palace was the nadir of Rodgers’ reign at the club"
..... so what was the 3-3 draw at Palace debacle then ??

"Can has been likened to Beckenbauer and Ballack, and Lallana has had a starring role in several games in the attacking midfield position." When ? to both

"Rodgers has always maintained how a swollen fixture list resulted in fewer minutes on the training pitch. By removing these four players, players new to the club, it allowed them to adapt to their new roles and understand what was required of them". A scarcely disguised rebrand of the too many games excuse.

I don't know how their Sports Editor allows this puffed up garbage to get past the subs red pen.

Rodgers is a scattergun roulette manager nothing more. He'll buy a load of players and throw them into a formation, if it doesn't work he just keeps spinning the wheel until he wins one. Henderson is being sold to Fulham, oh no wait now he's my vice captain, Sakho is not good enough I've bought Lovren, oh no wait Lovren is rubbish so Sakho is back in, I want to sell Lucas to Inter Milan, hang on Lucas is my best defensive mid he's staying, I'm dropping Mignolet, oh no Jones is rubbish he's back in. I don't need a target man I'm selling Carrol, oh hang on yes I do I'm buying Lambert. I play 433 only thats my philosophy its unshakeable, no wait now its 532, now its 4231, hang on sorry guys it really is 343, yeah that one works that's my philosophy.

You could give him some credit if he actually thought out these changes himself but half of them are brought about through frantic reactions to injury or awful form. The only reason Skrtel, Henderson and Lucas are in the team is because of injuries and loss of form of others or failed transfers (why oh why didn't the board let him sell Skrtel to finance Ashley Williams like he wanted?). The only reason Sterling got a run upfront was because of injury and the torrid form of 16 million Balotelli, 10 mill Borini and 4 mill Lambert. He still trades mostly on the success of other manager's signings. Skrtel, Lucas, Henderson, Gerrard, Sterling - he didn't buy any of them.

Rodgers will coin it in when the going is good when he has finally blindly stumbled across a line up and formation that works (usually involving 8 men behind the ball punting it forward to three quick players looking for penalties) but if for whatever reason the balance is upset (injuries, player sales etc.) he'll spend another half season spinning the wheel again hoping his luck comes in. He will never front up and answer for his failings in the transfer market. His man management is awful frequently breaking promises to players just to aid his short term goals Suarez, Carrol etc. He will blame everyone else before admitting his own fault and none of the fallout from the failed title bid, disastrous champions league campaign, failure in every big trophy game, and current underwhelming league position has ever landed at his door, the ultimate Teflon manager. When it's going wrong it's the players 'those that aren't in my group'. When its going right its all about him. He is an ego maniac charlatan and no matter how incompetent Martinez may or may not be I'd never swap him for that phoney.

Given that i recently posted a thread saying Martinez may not take us far, this post shows that maybe things could be worse - 'Everton Target Rodgers in Light of Recent Roberto sacking'. Makes me shudder.
The man is a fraud, like you say, constant changes of formation are too much, i called for bobby to change things but only little tweaks, but yeah rodgers finished 2nd last year, freedom of the city and all that. Losing Suarez highlighted to them how good he was, effectively 5 places in the league, now the gulf in the top four to the rest is alot so it shows how key suarez was.

Their kid gloves handling of Rodgers is outrageous. Apart from a blistering second half of last season he's presided over the biggest spending spree in Liverpool's history with nothing to show for it other than pats on the head from the (largely Kopite) national media for fast attacking football...which has only just made a reappearance after last season and was totally absent in the whole of his first season in charge.

You have to hand it to Gnashers: he's bewitched this lot.

Just about nails it.

I love the way when they win he's right in front of the camera's informing them (unsolicited by any question, btw) how he was able to set up his team to get the result. Poor result: doesn't want to know...he was just proud of the 'bravery' of his players and their 'technical ability'.

The feller's going to end up being a bigger basket case than Dalglish. He's defo a Walter Mitty type of character.

There should be a law stopping paying lads so young such ridiculous wages. Or pay them into a trust fund or property or something for them.

Cant be good for them really.

i've said it before, they lose their drive at the age of about 26. you watch so many of them these days, they just labour around the pitch. someone like ozil for example, terrific player, but he has no drive to bust a gut or anything. he doesn't feel the need to work his ass off, he's still already earned enough to last 10 lifetimes.

there does seem to be an awful lot of cases where players seem to buck up their idea for a few months and then they get a new contract. wonder if it's anything to do with management saying "we're not sure you deserve the amount your asking" them bam bit of form to earn the extra cash. i honestly don't understand what footballers these days can do with 130k a week that they can't do with 120k a week. greed gone mad.
