Maybe the Red Lion LFC's games should come with an X certificate and parental guidance considering that the RS have had 2 players suspended for stamping, which is unprecedented in British football. We surely, don't want very young players imitating their 'heroes'.

Seems like the Europeans are gearing themselves up to bottle the Ryder Cup.

Darren Clarke may ask Steven Gerrard to address European Ryder Cup team
• Sir Alex Ferguson addressed players before last year’s match against US
• Europe bid for fourth straight victory at Hazeltine in 2016

"Darren Clarke may consider asking the Liverpool captain, Steven Gerrard, to speak to the European Ryder Cup team before their bid for an unprecedented fourth straight victory at Hazeltine in 2016.

Clarke’s predecessor as captain, Paul McGinley, arranged for the former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson to address his team at Gleneagles last year before the home side went on to claim a five-point win.

Clarke, a Liverpool fan, would not rule out the possibility of using Gerrard in the same way despite the latter’s red card less than a minute after coming on at half-time against Manchester United on Sunday.

“LA is not that close to Minnesota so we will see,” Clarke joked in reference to Gerrard’s summer move to LA Galaxy. “Paul [McGinley] obviously got a lot of help and advice from a lot of different people who have been in that position of managing people and looking after people and I will be the same.

“There are a few people that I am thinking about. We’ll see. He [Gerrard] is a real legend. If I were to do something like that, he would be someone I would consider.”

Remember when Rory binned off that Kopties Wozniacki and went on to win a few more majors.

Good old pube ed.

Similarly to last season though some of these magical runs they go on are actually just a few stand out wins surrounded by some very lucky wins. I've often said that this season they've been nowhere near where they were last seaspn but they've banged on as though this run is a portent of a title challenging era just around the corner. Complete rubbish when you actually examine how they've been playing.

The wheels could have come off at any point. They should have been mauled against Southampton in what was quite frankly an embarassment for a supposedly 'unbiased' premier league. They were poor against Swansea and also poor against Tottenham. These games should at least have been draws possibly losses. They even let Aguero have enough shots on goal against City to lose that even though they played well. They won them all however because it was Coutinho wonder goals nearly every game, keepers like Lloris having howlers, favourable refereeing, luck with deflections, and awful finishing against them. Not in all the games, but in some of them. You take that away and they could be 11 behind United now. You can't do that all season. At some point your one shot on target doesnt go in (although they still managed that on Sunday, the leagues top keeper beaten on his near post, by their only shot, dont remember that in our game at Old Trafford), teams won't miss every single chance you give them, deflections wont always go in. Then what do you have left? Quite an average team with a lot of huff and puff who press quite well. Shouldn't be anywhere near the top 4 though when you compare their squads to United and Arsenal. I mean Herrera and Mata v Allen and Henderson was embarassing.

Well yes this is absolutely spot on. They get massively carried away and deliberately manipulate evidence to suit their own agenda. They don't count carling cup games, Europa league games, a Cup games in any un they are on (unless it suit them to do so).

Football fans are all biased but they are delusional at the same time. They win a few games and they start going on about being the best team in the country. I think they will finish 6/7th this season which would be a fair reflection of where and what they are. A workmanlike midtable team filled with average players.

Since Rodgers became manager (12-13)

Head to Head Table

Chelsea 21-41
Man City 23-35
Man Utd 21-31
Liverpool 22-21
Arsenal 21-17

12-13 Man U 16, Man C 13, Chelsea 12, Arsenal 6, Liverpool 5
13-14 Chelsea 20, Man C 13, Liverpool 12, Arsenal 6, Man U 5
14-15 Man U 10 (5), Chelsea 9 (5), Man City 9 (7), Arsenal 5 (5), Liverpool 4 (6)

Data from Statto.com

Spot on again. Take into account his record against Everton is appalling as a manager (1 win in about 8 games isn't it?).

What is also telling is when they lose those games. They tend to win them when there isn't a lot riding on it, but when it's at a critical moment they slip up. He is the new Moyes.

Why would Clarke even consider doing that?

And what could Slippy possibly say to, for example, Rory McIlroy which woukd inspire him to greater heights?

The world's leading golfer and a well past his sell by date nearly man.

It beggars belief.

Picture the scene.

Slippy gathers them all round in a huddle at the first tee.

"Right Rory....and the rest of yiz.....we don't let this slip now, la'.......we go Minnesota......we go again......"....:coffee:
