ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Just when you think they can't get any weirder... how on earth some of them are sincerely defending Skrtl is the biggest current mystery of this solar system.

Just bonkers.

They could possibly finish 7th and wecould possible get 10/11th. I'd like to see that considering thier relegation shouts finishing a few places from them would make all them shouts a bit silly... I know it's lame but it's all that's fueling me Everton spirit.

considering they have defended a straight up racist and horrowshow of a human being in the past I am not too shocked

True, however there was a veneer of ambiguity they could hide behind with the bitey chap. They could even say the biting was bad but not as bad as, say, trying to break someone's leg by stamping on it.

They are genuinely the weirdest set of fans of any sport anywhere the world.

According to the mirror

Liverpool striker Sturridge was sent home from England duty with a hip injury, and scans have revealed it is worse than first feared.

Sturridge has suffered a torn hip muscle in Sunday's loss to Manchester United. That means he could miss around four weeks - including Liverpool’s crunch clash at Arsenal, rivals for a top four finish this season, on Saturday week.

@BenDinnery: typically 2/3 weeks but given Sturridge history then the club will certainly err on the side of caution

If he just held out for another week, Rodgers could have blamed it on England.

I see the 'Reds Jury' from this morning's Anfield Bugle has an in-built insanity clause judging by the remarks today....

"....it is difficult to understand how Phil Jones, Wayne Rooney and David De Gea all escaped further punishment for their actions, yet Martin Skrtel now faces a ban for a genuine attempt to win the ball....."

I think must be badly biased here cause no one else shares my opinion but I genuinely don't even think Jones's header they keep going on about was a foul.

He won the ball then flattened Lallana. He didn't flatten him before he got the ball, he got the ball first.

I just can not see what's wrong with it if you are allowing Gerrard's first tackle and saying that wasn't a foul (which I don't think it was) then neither was Jones's.

Liverpool: they look like a crisis waiting to happen.

If Arsenal turn them over next game and United get further ahead of them they're almost certain to miss out on a CL place. Then you look at next season without CL football to offer and they're very vulnerable. Sterling has gone almost for sure now; Henderson is dragging his feet on a contract; Gerrard is off (which denies them at least some figurehead they take inspiration from); that forward line needs selling and replacing (goes without saying that Balotelli, Borini and Lambert will all leave; Sturridge, IMO, is finished as a player given his injuries); the GK is suspect and drifts in and out of form.

They are walking a very thin line at the moment. Suspensions to Gerrard, Skrtel and the injury to Sturridge could tip them right over the cliff. And they've been found out with that system they play.

Not looking good at all for them. Not one bit.

Theyre having yet another end of season implosion. Rodgers must be absolutely spewing it when the problems in the main are self inflicted. FSG will be livid at their "product" hitting another skid regarding CL football and their knock on dollar return disappearing in turn. I cant see them bankrolling Rodgers to the same degree again when the players you've mentioned are let go without any return either.
