ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

You do - it's called the Europa League.

Even when it didn't have CL qualification for winning it, it was still much better than nothing. It's far superior to the League Cup, for example. Anyone would rather be in it than not. It's not a punishment.
My original point was and is that in my honest opinion liverpool being on the EL Next season (which they will be) is a disadvantage to their chances of getting In the CL positions next season which I'm happy about, in the sand manner I was disappointed about last season

Good to see them get smashed today. Am I the only who thinks the treatment of Raheem Sterling has been deplorable? Basically being accused of agitating for a move and being greedy even though the majority the time, it's all the ex-reds and Liverpool media cheerleaders bringing it up. All of them (Kenny, Reade, Lawrenson etc.) are unanimously trying to bully him into signing a new contract, saying that it's the best thing for his career and he'll regret it if he doesn't. It's an effing bus-throwing jamboree.

Sterling basically said he wants to wait until the summer and review the situation, probably with an eye on Champions league football, and he gets called a money-grabber because he's not allowing himself to be browbeaten into signing a new contract. Why did Sanchez turn Liverpool down? He got offered more money by them and he still went to Arsenal because, despite what they think, they're not a "massive club" any more, and quality footballers see them for the pedestrian top 8 PL outfit they actually are(and won't admit to being). Besides, I wouldn't be surprised if Sterling just wants to get away from that obnoxious goblin at the helm, quoting Nietzsche and throwing players under buses.

Bus throwing jamboree made me lol very loudly then!

They'd get the Europa League even under your rules (if 5th got nothing) if they won the FA Cup - should they give up the FA Cup to have a better shot at 4th too?

the only thing good about our season was our europa run. it didn't hinder us in any way, terrible individual mistakes at the back virtually every game did. at the start of the season we were the better team in the majority of games, even the chelsea one we were arguably a match for them, we just lost confidence after dropping 4 points after the first two games and continued to do it. we had the squad at the start of the season to compete in both, but howard, distin and barry all decided to look finished within 3 weeks of the season starting - these things just happen.

Nope I'd rather tge FA Cup trophy than the 5th placed trophy

But what's the difference? A tin pot ultimately, with the same end result? You'd still have to enter the Europa League, and with your logic hamper your chance of the holy grail which is 4th, so surely if the Europa League is a punishment then you'd avoid winning a domestic trophy if you knew it'd hurt your chances of 4th the following year?

This season should be taken in isolation, we managed to play in Europa under Moyes without it making us turn turbo tosh in the league.

And im pretty sure the next time we get Europe we wont crash and burn.

Not all RAWK members are deluded as this post attests:

Is RAWK ready to be honest about our team or are we still pretending we're laughably not far off? I was going to save this for the very end of the season but f*** that I am f***ing fuming. And if anything it has been long over since November and you can read through my posting history I have been unconvinced all season.

The season has been a disgrace and every last bit is self inflicted. Through gross negligence and sheer incompetence we sit here probably 7th by the end of the day. So I sit here during the game with a litany of questions.

Why did we buy Lovren when we had Sakho? What genius thought he was better than him and at £20m?

Lovren is a better player than sakho though, is this guy saying sakho was good business? they were both terrible, overpriced signings.

Why did we buy Markovic when our best formation doesn't require wingers and if it did we already had Ibe and Sterling?
Ibe started the season on loan in the championship - he obviously wasn't part of the plans. what team heads into a CL and title chasing campaign with only two wide players in the squad?

Why did we bin a successful 4-4-2 diamond formation that worked wonders last season?
Because they were failing miserably playing it? since they've changed formation they've actually won games

Why did we buy Lambert and Balotelli to replace Suarez. No serious team would do this and why did it take so long to get anyone of note in when you knew Suarez was leaving all season?
Because everyone you tried buying rejected you. You couldn't get better than balotelli, simple as that.

Also why would you buy those two when they are the complete anthesis of how we play?

Versatility?

Why did management let our season rest on a injury prone striker? It's not unlucky it's rank stupidity.

They didn't, that's why they bought so many players ... they were just all a bit crap.

Why was Adam Lallana the managers number 1 target when we already have 2 players who play his position better?
Because he's an idiot

Why do we still have no DM after 3 seasons?
You played 3 today and have gerrard and emre can, how many more do you need?

Last season the manager said anyone can do what Mourinho does so why has our defence been rank average for 3 seasons when it's the 2nd most expensive in Europe?
Kept 6 away clean sheets in a row before today, don't over-react.

I have so many more questions though why did we buy Borini and Allen when the manager already coached them so should have known first hand they aren't of the required standard?

Why have I had to rely on a 20 year old kid to play out of position after you spent £120m? When the manager told me if you spend that much you should be challenging for the title which I agreed with at the time.

All I know is If you have £75m, 95% of players are attainable and anyone who thinks otherwise is part of the excuses culture which has existed all season.

And the real kicker why are we about to be behind a team who 3 best players we supposedly bought?
Don't try and make sly remarks about everton - because they're boss and will actually help you out sometimes like today.

I am so angry I might have forgot a few things.

He/she's not wrong lol lol

wrong about quite a few things i thought tbh.

No mate I'd party for years on the back of a 'tin pot' 4th U.S. easily forgotten. There has been a lot of 20 year talk this week, an hardly any 'it's only 20 years since CL qualification'

Some berk rang the Merseyside post match phone in earlier and said that he'd heard that the only reason Sanchez signed for Arsenal was that they offered him more money. "These American owners wont pay out.....zzzz...." The usual RS ploy of, if you say something often enough, it gets transformed from being an elaborate urban myth to instantly being accepted as truth and fact. Their self deception knows no boundaries and will be shown with its kecks down when this season falls apart, deja vu style, like last year's....especially if they get turned over by Blackburn thus denying their soon to be ex-talisman his final ego trip at Wembley on his birthday.
