ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Found this part of the article odd "Mario Balotelli did not make the trip to London after deciding his knee was too sore. “He deemed it not able for travel,” said Rodgers."

So it wasn't the club doctors that made the decision but Mario himself?

To be fair, he could have mis-spoke. Far more likely he was doing some casual throwing of a player under bus that got overlooked because of Raheemgate.

Really despise that about Rodgers, would hate being one of his players from that respect as you'd never know when you were going to find a knife in your back.

Particularly hated it when he blamed the condition of his own pitch for not playing well earlier in the season. Even if it is true, you don't treat your staff that way.

No other manager does it with such brutal regularity. He constantly has to snipe at his own players for some perceived slight at every conceivable moment.

No wonder Balotelli rarely speaks out in person when his manager has perfected gold standard strangulated English like this.

Mourinho used to use it quite often and it is one of the things I don't like about him either.

But at least with Mourinho you sometimes wonder if there is some master plan at work behind the scenes and he is just manipulating the player emotionally and using the press to get a better performance out of them ultimately, not that I personally think that is a good way to treat another person. Rodgers just seems snide.

I would like to thank the many posters on this thread for supplying the ammunition to absolutely rip a rs mate of mine to bits while out on the ale in town on Thursday, When I hit him with facts like their the biggest spending club in Europe who have not won their domestic league, they have the second most expensive defense in Europe and many more fact that I learnt of this thread. When out drinking with my rs mates I try not to get in to " a discussions" about footie it usually ends up in a massive argument but this time I couldn't help it, he was even denying they paid 17m for Johnson and disputed the money they paid for Lallana, and Lovren, so once again thanks for the info and keep it coming.

Totally not blaming him for the result either.

I'm having a hearty old laugh here. No doubt this will all be pinned on Raheem's contract dilemmas.

Posted this yesterday. It's so incredibly predictable. As if Sterling's contract dispute, which they keep bringing up, has anything to do with their shambles of a defence.

Oi, are you suggesting that the reason for Liverpool's defeat was in fact not down to a player signing a piece of paper but rather more to do with the sides overall tactical inadequacies?

Because I'm not having that lad

I'm emailing this post to Brian Reade mate. You're going to be in trouble now!

Quite honestly if you were going to throw anyone under the bus it would be a captain who go sent off within a minute of coming on in an important game and their best defender who petulantly stamped on an opponent in the dying minutes of a match they had already lost.

Both are also old enough to know better, unlike the 20 year old who was actually one of their better players vs Arsenal despite playing out of position because their manager didn't buy enough depth to cover their injury prone main striker.

Brian Effing Reade. He's at the front of the rabid Liverpool media mob, trying to intimidate Sterling to sign.
