imagine if it did first home game , fools parade two hours before the game mass face painting ,banner making , LFC pray mats for the faithfull, t shirts, key rings, LFC capes for the fantastic duo, the cult would go into over drive

I hope it happens. That's a sure fire way of taking two of their idols away from them when they may a bollocks of it.

The Echo today: wonderful.

Story after story on the themes of 'still 6 games to play this season and the reds need to make them count', and 'Rodgers is still learning his craft as a young manager'.

Utter buffoonery from a shower of plagiarising clueless hacks trying to shore up a team that's been torn to shreds and needs breaking up in the summer.

Just let it wash over you; take it in. It's a glorious low-point for them and they're going to be in open civil war soon over the manager's tenure and which ones of these expensively assembled failures get to play for them next season.

The fun is really about to begin on this one. The fan base will be split on Rodgers, Gerrard and FSG. I think Gerrard would jump at a loan move back, and probably hopes they get a new manager in who's first move to win the fans and the lovies back will be to keep him. I think he will try to leak stories to undermine Rodgers again.

The Rodgers out feeling is only going to grow now. The problem for them is the money has well and truly ran out. So do they try to turn on FSG? Rodgers best hope is to do a Moyes, and act as a shield for the FSG. There are going to be scenes though when it finally sinks in that there's no 100 million for new players in the summer and that they'll only get 25 million for Stirling who they are pimping out as their next big cash cow.

Yesterday was a beautiful day, if only for how obviously it all panned out.

Rodgers once again bottled another big game. Feel free to vault me on this thread, look back at my posts, but I have said consistently this guy has no idea how to win big games. He has a toxic mixture of arrogance and stupidity.

Lets list the big games he needed to win that he's failed too, Beskitas away, Arsenal away, Manchester United at Home + away, both derby matches, Chelsea and Villa in the cup semi finals, Basel at home. If we look into other seasons we can immediately add Arsenal away in the cup last year, as well as Chelsea + Crystal Palace at home. He wins games that aren't important but when it comes to the crunch is found wanting.

Yesterday was a fine example of weak management. Firstly putting in Gerrard who is way over the hill for sentimental reasons. Not only that but he then shoe-horned him into the team in a way that affected a lot of their other key players. Coutinho had to play right wing meaning he didn't see any of the ball. Henderson had to play too far up the field meaning they didn't have the physicality and "legs" to stop Grealish + NZogbia. He switched to a back 4 to then accommodate Gerrard but left his defence looking precarious.

Obviously a midfield 2 of Gerrard and Allen is going to be appallingly overran. It's almost as bad as when we used to play Osman and Neville (or an unfit Gibson). I don't dislike Joe Allen, he's a tidy player but needs energy next to him. Where was Lucas, their best defensive midfielder for this game? Anyway, chasing the game and being overrun in midfield Gerrard should have been hooked and Balotelli given some support (with Lambo). Henderson should have gone into Midfield. Instead the coward takes Allen off to bring a right back on and play Can in midfield. Out and out stupidity all to keep Gerrard content.

He must have used about 4 systems yesterday. No doubt trying to show off his versatility to future employers (he thinks Manchester City). All he did was confuse himself and his own players. Sherwood kept thinks very simple and Nzobbia + Grealish thrived in picking up the spaces vacated with the confusion from the Liverpool players. He should have played a system to get the best out of Coutinho. Instead he was left marginalised to make room for the Stevie G show.

On a side note, I really wonder if Sturridge wants to play for Rodgers anymore. I reckon he thinks he's a bit of a tit and doesn't fancy playing through the pain barrier much.

Out played by Villa and out thought by Sherwood. Knocked out by the first premier league team they've faced. They have excelled once more in embarrassing themselves.

I have been in agreement with most of what you say about BR, i have passed this idea on to LFC 'friends' and been given a dogs life for it. Thank you very much mate its been a pleasure.

No really, it has been a pleasure - koff Kopites.

rodgers signings have been woeful, but its not a massive change in what they have been doing for past 10/15 years...spending over the odds for average too good players, they cant get the top talent...they would be better off investing in taking a chance on younger prospects

I'm glad I've been of service. What bit of it have you passed on?

What are their reactions to the idea that they are managed by a perennial loser?

That would be great. Or bleep the swearing out, or PM me it if you like. I'll happily write you a reply if you like. Nothing more fun than summarising their nonsense with a bit of cold hard reality.

Brendan is a decent manager, anybody who lost a player of s****z quality would struggle, (they didnt mention the £125m practical joke).

That was just a part of it, hopefully you can see why i need the swear filter lifted !

Well it's true anyone who lost a player of Suarez's ability would struggle. Lets look at why they lost Suarez though? Rodgers was busy telling everyone he had got him under control and it's plain to see Suarez had zero respect for him, and year after year did stupid things. Rodgers was not a skilful or adept enough manager to control Suarez. Suarez for his part a world class player begged to leave Liverpool. This is not just down to them being an average club unable to compete with the big teams anymore, but also because they have a failure of a manager.

He is an alright manager most of the time. He has put together an alright squad that will finish between 10th-5th. Essentially mid table none entities. However he is a big game bottler. Every big game they have been faced with they have lost. It's going to be 1 top 5 finish in 3 years for him. It's a record even Moyes would be ashamed of.
