ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Well it's true anyone who lost a player of Suarez's ability would struggle. Lets look at why they lost Suarez though? Rodgers was busy telling everyone he had got him under control and it's plain to see Suarez had zero respect for him, and year after year did stupid things. Rodgers was not a skilful or adept enough manager to control Suarez. Suarez for his part a world class player begged to leave Liverpool. This is not just down to them being an average club unable to compete with the big teams anymore, but also because they have a failure of a manager.

He is an alright manager most of the time. He has put together an alright squad that will finish between 10th-5th. Essentially mid table none entities. However he is a big game bottler. Every big game they have been faced with they have lost. It's going to be 1 top 5 finish in 3 years for him. It's a record even Moyes would be ashamed of.

I dont really disagree with your point, he would be a decent manager of say Newcastle or Villa. He does bottle the big games and yes suarez was a massive wan... loss. What i hate about the man is he thinks he is god now because he is LFC manager, what i find funny is that a club the size of LFC deserve better than a no mark like BR. When it goes wrong he throws players under the bus - that is my biggest fault in rodgers.

We have all passed comment in the past about them signing a pact with the devil. Now it seem's to have gone full circle. Twice in 2 seasons they were close to big things, close enough that the fans once again believed their own sh1te only for them to be dropped from a massive height at the death right in full view of the whole world.

I genuinely love it and would have donned a Villa top today had I had one just to punish them that little bit more.

The fun is really about to begin on this one. The fan base will be split on Rodgers, Gerrard and FSG. I think Gerrard would jump at a loan move back, and probably hopes they get a new manager in who's first move to win the fans and the lovies back will be to keep him. I think he will try to leak stories to undermine Rodgers again.

The Rodgers out feeling is only going to grow now. The problem for them is the money has well and truly ran out. So do they try to turn on FSG? Rodgers best hope is to do a Moyes, and act as a shield for the FSG. There are going to be scenes though when it finally sinks in that there's no 100 million for new players in the summer and that they'll only get 25 million for Stirling who they are pimping out as their next big cash cow.
Rodgers will get a lifeline for the next six months or so (I expect a comment from FSG in the coming weeks backing him). But he's not getting any major cash from that lot this summer. He's in a similar position to Martinez in terms of summer transfer kitty (on a bigger scale obviously, because they can sell more expensive players and claw in bigger fees for them). Sell to buy, more or less, that's what he's dealing with now. The fact that no decent CL-class player will go near them next summer will ultimately see Rodgers off. What world class forward is going there for the EL?

He's running out of 'technical development' track now: no one will be in any mood for nonsense about 'building' after 3 seasons and nothing to show for it except £250M disappearing.

Best thing about it all is what such a crumpled wreck Gerard has become since his slip. His legs were always going but now his heads gone, its going to haunt him forever, the tit

Model example of how player can lose his mojo. It's an open chest wound for every kopite...they'd deny it ofcourse but everybody knows it's true.

It's official then after Brenda saying they wouldn't do a spurs, they've done exactly that.

Sell best and only world class player-check
Spunk millions on inferior garbage-check

Have a crap season with the manager probably getting sacked-check

Yep they've done a spurs alight. In screw ups they couldn't even be arsed to be original

They're really hurting aren't they lol

Serves you right you bad tits.
When it goes it really goes with that lot. They can be idolising someone and then a couple of bad results later they're calling them fit to burn and the world falls in on the manager.

Gnashers is going to find out exactly how much all his talk about 'family' and 'fantastic institution' was wide of the mark. They'll take him out and bullet him in a heartbeat.

Well yes I agree with all of that. One thing I have learnt from Rodgers is that he is an absolute snide underneath it all. A complete charlatan as well and knows who to charm at the right moment.

My suspicion is he will be busy chumming up to the owners. Explaining that it costs a lot of money to build a top team, or someone like him. He'll even accept working under their conditions. Most importantly, if they let the fans run him out of town, like the last set of yanks very quickly they'll be pressuring them out of the club with no return on investment.

I sense he will set himself up as the FSG man and a buffer between the fans and the board. I doubt he'd have the bottle to do a Benitez and whinge about lack of spending, (I know he's spent a load of money, but so did Benitez and that doesn't register with Kopites).

His chance of success in all of this will really depend on how much interest FSG have and how much time and money they are willing to invest. If they are to prioritise Liverpool, they will put money in and go and get Klopp or someone. I suspect though they are losing interest. Rodgers loyalty could be just the ticket.

We shall see anyway. I am not too bothered either way. Forget attracting top players they can barely keep their own. Gerrard leaving, Stirling leaving, Johnson leaving. Hendo and Skirtl 1 year left on contracts still not signed. It is a disaster waiting to happen.

They are pulling money out of the club. Martinez (pre FA Cup Win) turned them down. I don't think they'd attract a top name. I could see them looking for someone like Gary Monk if they sacked him. I can really see them going the same way Villa did under Learner if they don't qualify for the CL this summer!

You just know they're building a Brendan effigy they're just working out how to preserve a Monkfish.

Failing that it'll deffo be bullets in the post.

Hahaha they thought they'd be magnificent this season as well. The gift that keeps on giving.

Well yes, it's what happens when you get anomie in a cult. They really struggle with differing viewpoints. The situation they are in is very complex and requires nuance. They are not ready to turn on Rodgers yet, it's not a Hodgson that's for sure. But some fans will start to see through Rodgers and want him out. You will see (at least) 2 different opinions coming to dominate. That is at least 1 more view than the deadhead goons at the Echo or RAWK can handle. It will be amusing to see them try to fight out for amongst themselves who has the true lineage of Shankly.
