.....somebody posted a list of their player salaries on here a week or so ago. From the look of that it will take some time to reduce, especially with the the amounts being paid to those who have recently signed and offers on the table for Sterling and Henderson. From what I recall, Balotelli and Sturridge are £100k + whilst Sako, Lalana, Lovren et Al are all around £80k.

Slippy and Johnson leaving will help the cause but others appear ready to step into their salaries.
maybe its a long term shift from the tranfer committee younger cheaper players, to replace the likes of those two, they have a few they can bin , Lambert ,Mario,Borini, Skrtel ? they have loads out on loan as well, but they need a top striker and a midfielder and a ball playing centre back at least if they want to move upwards, that wont come cheap, unless Stirling is allowed to go its going to be a push,

.....not sure players will be in a rush to leave whilst on big bucks so it might not be so easy to move them on. I was surprised Borini is on so much, clubs have been offering decent money for him but he seems reluctant to move.

"The Americans plan to conduct a thorough review into this season, once the campaign has finished"

"FSG have no plans at this point to change manager"

Qualification for the Champions League, the club’s main target at the start of the season, looks unlikely at present, and would represent a significant failure if it was not achieved...missing out on next season’s Champions League would be viewed as a major blow by FSG, who believed the £116m spending spree sanctioned last summer would deliver qualification, despite the sale of Luis Suarez."

Oh dear, sounds like Gnashers is going to get the official 'backing from the board' statement soon...the first step to the sack next autumn, I'd say.

oh no ,he needs to stay for at least a bit longer

League finishes for them under the last 4 managers:

Gnashers 7th, 2nd (probably) 5th/6th

Dalglish 6th, 8th

Benitez 5th, 3rd, 3rd, 4th, 2nd, 7th

Houlier 4th, 3rd, 2nd, 5th.

Rodgers is nowhere near the consistency of Benitez and Houlier and more in line with the later Dalglish period in charge that got binned very quickly.

He's skating on very thin ice. I'd say it's touch and go whether he starts next season as their manager.

Aldridge in the Echo writes:

"Liverpool’s season was on the line on Sunday, and I’m sorry to say it, the season’s over now."

then a few paragraphs later...

"Rodgers and his players can’t afford to relax now...The manager has to get into their heads, and get them into the mindset of winning their last six games."

Ha Ha Ha.

Thick as ****

He fell on his feet by having Suarez, he's gone and they are nothing special..............I'm looking forward to the FA Cup final and wishing Slippy happy birthday............

I think anyone on the outside sensibly looking on with a stake in that outfit (ie, FSG) would agree.

Take Suarez's blistering campaign last season out of those three seasons and you're left with a terrible record of underachievement for the kind of cash spent.

It's a no brainer really: you punt Rodgers as a failed project asap and move to the next manager.

I can see these losing 4 of their last 6 games and Rodgers losing his job.

It was interesting yesterday on the radio with that prick Tony Evans being interviewed. He said he was surpised how close Brodgers came to getting the sack just before Christmas. If they have a poor run in like they might now after being dumped out the cup, coupled with a few tough fixtures while also having to accomadate The Ego's final hurrah it would indicate he's a goner.
