Aldridge in the Echo writes:
"Liverpool’s season was on the line on Sunday, and I’m sorry to say it, the season’s over now."
then a few paragraphs later...
"Rodgers and his players can’t afford to relax now...The manager has to get into their heads, and get them into the mindset of winning their last six games."
Ha Ha Ha.
Thick as ****
He's probably still hungover.

Ha Ha Ha. Was that him? Brilliant.
Can someone please explain to me why Hendo Lad is going to be paid £100,000 a week for 5 years?
Liverpool FC Melwood privacy screen to stop spying given go-ahead
- Liverpool FC will install a screen at its Melwood training ground to prevent confidential team details leaking out before matches.
For us, they're ideal owners. They haven't got the mega-money to sink into Liverpool (as an oligarch/sheikh would and provide a massive game changing boost), and they have the Kopites (with a few isolated grumbles) buying into their 'efficiently run business' mantra that will 'get them to where they want to go' eventually. It means they'll have Liverpool operating with non-elite mangers and players and hoping they can qualify for the CL and/or nick a domestic cup to keep the punters happy as they take care of the small matter of stadium redevelopment prior to a future sale.
I fear FSG will leave sooner rather than later. The next owners are likely - with CL football consistently secured under a new manager and a stadium reconstructed - to have much deeper pockets, and then we will have to worry.
Liverpool: League Winners
Back in March - towards the end of that 13-match unbeaten run - Brendan Rodgers was 'King Midas' to Phil Thomas of The Sun's fawning acolyte. Liverpool were an 'express train of an outfit', who 'simply do slip up any more' and look 'increasingly nailed on' for a top-four finish.
In April, Thomas is still a fawning acolyte but now it seems that fifth was all Liverpool could ever have realistically expected. It turns out they were 'increasingly nailed on' for something they could never actually achieve.
'You could argue Liverpool are set to finish top of the league they can genuinely win,' writes Thomas. 'And that, unfortunately for them, is the league of sides outside the top flight's big four.'
So it turns out that they have actually done really, really brilliantly. Well done, Brendan.
I dont know, I'm doubtful that ship has sailed. There's ways and means around the FFP such as commercial deals that are ridiculous (City and the Etihad mega deal for one). You can see how Liverpool got away so easily this season with the horse trading with UEFA over profit and loss levels over a few years.Yes they are, the third point I'd say is that they don't really understand football or Liverpool in spite of what they say. Similar could be thrown at Kenwright (though I don't think he's as efficient as them) but at least I think he understands football. I couldn't imagine him paying Jordan Henderson 100k based upon flimsy statistics. Nor could I imagine him presiding over the Suarez mess (well 3 messes), the current Stirling side show or the Gerrard leaking of stories in quite the same way. Nor would he as easily put up with the cringey nonsense of Rodgers. Natural football people can see through him. The distance they are away plays into it too.
There is always the worry that they could be bought out ah la City or Chelsea. The new FFP rules would hinder them though, as you are starting to see with Chelsea and City. They can't go and blitz in quite the same way. For all their protestations of "well run club" unlike the "money teams" (ie Chelsea) the truth is Chelsea are now well run. They do Liverpool's model, but with a top class manager to ensure the first team wins things a lot more effectively. Players like De Bruyne, Lukaku, Schurle etc all sold on for big money. This is out of necessity now due to FFP. I can't see Liverpool being as effective with big money as they would have been 10 years ago.
More importantly that ship has really sailed now. Increasingly big money merchants are buying clubs abroad. I think leading up to, and increasingly after the World Cup in Qatar there will be a big push for "arab money" to go into their own league's. Their stance they took around racism and Suarez won't have endeared them to the outside world either. There is also the increasing pull of the MLS, which would be a natural place to invest for Kudos and influence.
The premier league was a massive pull 10 years ago. Our teams dominated and to get influence one needed to own a club. I think those days have gone. No teams in the quarter finals again.
It is their (and every teams) fantasy to be bought out will oil money. I can't see it though. If Manchester United haven't been bought out Liverpool have no chance. Hopefully Labour will up the high rate of tax and outlaw non doms which will put them off further ha ha! I think this is their future. No bail outs. Mediocrity.

Liverpool definitely missed the boat when Moores decided he'd fill his boots when he knocked back DIC and went with H&G.
That really was a black day for Liverpool. It's put them back a decade minimum in development. They'll have FSG now until someone comes in and gives them over a £billion for Liverpool.
There is a bit already: grumblings about not offering 'world class wages' to attract world class players. The inept Wembley performance and slip out of the CL places has focussed attention on Rodgers, but discontent with the owners is not far away.It will be interesting to see how FSG play out. At present the voices of discontent are not pointed there way. But things can change very quickly.
