ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Carragher, 'how dare a kid take on Liverpool'. Hahaha, how the 'mighty' have fallen. The RS can't face the fact that they are just an also ran club and players will use them, and leave them, for better things. Funny how Sterling has gone from being 'world class on par with Messi, who will propel us to the heights of yesteryear' to being 'over-hyped' and 'not as good as he thinks he is'. Carragher sums that lot up perfectly. Their delusional world is crumbling and they are blaming all and sundry for the debacle. Rather than the most obvious, the clown in the hot seat, whose buffoonery will only impress the wannabees.

From RAWK: he must have one pf the worst crosses to crosses completed ratios across the whole of europe.

he can beat his man but thats where his footballing ability ends.

no great loss imo....just hope we can benefit from his sale.

swap deal for cherychev?
real could be getting a transfer ban so they may be tempted....

Brendan Rodgers is a towering pipe. It's only a matter of time before he alienates Coutinho and the penny will finally drop with the fans and FSG. Sterling probably has vague ambitions to play in the Champions League. More money would be nice for him too, I guess. But I genuinely think his primary reason for leaving is because he can't listen to the tangerine with veneers for another year.

Alan Brazil is reading out a list of former Liverpool players who are "furious" at Sterling having the temerity to contemplate breaking free of the cult.

All the usual suspects.....Hamann, Carragher, Houghton et al.

Yup. They took it in turns with carrots and sticks over the course of the season and are throwing their toys out of the pram now that it hasn't worked. Sterling was thrown under the bus, as far as I'm concerned, and Liverpool are reaping what they have sewn. Expect Reade, Maddock, Dalglish et el to start pumping out articles about how "agents are ruining the game" and how a young man was blinded by greed. They're a disgrace.

Just heard Carragher on SSN, giving advise to Sterling, thought he was going to have a breakdown,he was nearly crying ffs, get a grip,he wants to go, get over it.

Straight-off-the-shelf RS reaction from Carragher there. They change their attitude and opinion on players at the drop of a hat....as he should know the way he was initially an RS whipping boy when he played at full back then voila, he became "Carra," the heartbeat of the club. Sterllng was never going to get on with Rodgers after that very public "Being Liverpool" spat.

Think Carragher is right to be honest. Failed at every big game this season.

He isnt that good and wouldnt get in any of the teams he's been linked with (maybe City if they revamp).

So, wherever he goes, he'll become the new Shaun Wright Phillips or Joe Cole.

Funny how much footballs changed in the last 10 years. Rooney HAD to leave Everton for a club in the CL to help him develop as a player and fullfil his obvious potential. Now a young international with great expectations heaped on him is supposed to stay at the mid table club going nowhere because it's the right place for his career.

Actually forget thinking back that far this time last year Luke Shaw needed to move away from a mid table team to a CL club to fullfil his potential..

Whether he goes or stays he'll not have the career success Joe Cole has had.

Liverpool, always in the headlines for the wrong reasons: racist players, retiring players, players pushing for transfers, players who spit at supporters, players who are involved in gangsterism, players and managers in dispute with national associations over injuries...

They're just a Sky generation circus act that perform the role of filling in huge chunks of dead time that elapses between the big clubs winning stuff.

apparently they are considering Vidal from Juve as Slippys replacement. Like he would even contemplate signing for them from the current Italian champions and potential champions league winners, they may aswell go for Messi while they are at it
