Player Valuation: £80m
I haven't ventured onto RAWK yet, I have that joy a little bit later.
They are basically been shown up as incredibly small time. They are as badly run as we were in the late 90's, where we couldn't hold onto players who were barely older than teenagers.
Rodgers has sent him off for a holiday, and promised he would be staying, he looks incredibly weak now. The futility of Rodgers is there for all to see.
Compare it to how we have operated. Stones, Barkley, Lukaku all signed to long term contracts and happily playing for the club. Young players grounded and happy to play for Martinez and Everton. They are kept in toe and told to keep their heads down, dropped when appropriate but told to continue working hard. They don't get sent on holiday when they start throwing a petulant tantrum.
If the time comes that they want to move on rather than digging our heels in and bluffing massively, we facilitate that in a way that benefits the club (ah la Fellaini). We don't try to make out we are the biggest club ever, we just get the best deal.
They have carried on as if Sterling was world class, and they are world class and nobody would want to leave. This is them having their bluff called. They have lost control of that situation completely and look very weak given they said they would never sell him.
As the realisation of that sets in, watch the nastiness unfold.
