Gerrard quoted in The Echo's piece on their Awards last night

“People keep trying to get me to cry before I leave, I’ve had to do that many speeches,” Gerrard said.

“But I’m bored of speaking about myself“

"I’ve been a bit embarrassed with all the attention. It’s been all about me and I don’t like it that way. I want it to be back on the team."

Don't worry Ste....youll get your own way with that over in L.A. when they think youre a foreigner who cant speak English.
There isn't a tear in him as far as football is concerned. He's as instrumental about the game as they come. A cynical individualism drives him on and informs all his actions and has done since day one. To shed tears you have to empathise and feel part of something. He just pretends that he feels that way and the mugs lap it up. Liverpool's story for him in the past 18 years has been how it frames his own career: Steevie wins the CL in Istanbul; Steevie needs a PL winners medal to complete his career; Steevie needs to sign off at Wembley; Steevie needs a guard of honour and big pat on the head in his final home game.

He's always been a cold fish. Self serving, self regarding, with a veneer of being a 'club man'.

I dislike Steven Gerrard as much as the next sane human being, but if he does believe that it can only be on a sub concious level

I think he does have a lot of love for Liverpool FC as an entity (Mainly cos he was a glory hunting twap, but still)

He's attached his career wagon to it. That's as far as it goes. Let's not forget he tried to walk away from them and was pulled back in at the last moment.

If he has 'love' for Liverpool it's only because he wants to stare into its eyes and see his own reflection.

With Neville, Kilbane and Keown, there's actually a healthy ex-Everton presence these days at the BBC

They even have Joey Barton on occasionally as well, who makes no secret of being a blue

Could the tide be turning? (Probably not, but nice to see some blues on the telly for once)

And don't forget Daglish's daughter Kelly Cates - presenter of 606.

Just don't understand the headline in the Daily Fibber, the Kop to play hard ball with Sterling ? When a player says he wants to leave, they leave end of.
