Now guys im not the sharpest knife in the drawer, i dont claim to be either. I can be stubborn at times even when i know i may be in the wrong. I also have tendencies to claim Zidane is the best of all time even though Messi is just a freak, i also claim that i dont mind Liverpool when deep down i despise everything about them, but please please please tell me i did not just read that Sterling is ahead of John Stones in his development ?!

John Stones has had to deal with a out of form Baines, Coleman, Distin and Alcaraz - even Jagielka was poor to begin with ! Yet he still looks a touch of class at 20. Like i said above i can be a little dumb at times but to claim Sterling is ahead of Stones is crazy. Sterling the guy with no left foot, heading ability, balance or consistency ?
The little Velma running, father of twelve, crying over £100,000 a week, made to look good by a world class Suarez and a fully fit Daniel Sturridge backed by Coutinho (also inconsistent) little girl ?

That Sterling ???

John Stones is naive at times but i will risk getting a barracking for this: John Stones is the closest centre half i have seen that resembles a young Rio Ferdinand (pre bellend days - also debatable there ever was such a time), now if Rio went for £30m in the days before sky money, abramovich and people wearing tea towels came into the game, coupled with Raheem 'was gonna be better than hazard' Sterling being worth £50m, i would say that John Stones could be as good as he wants to be. Anything less than £40m would be worse than the Rooney deal for me - trust me im a massive Rooney fan too.

I suppose it might have something to do with 'peaking ' for their position?

Wingers who rely on their pace are pretty much fully developed at 20-21 and start to go downhill through injuries and age in their mid 20's, whereas I suppose Stones plays in much more of a critical area where you keep learning about positioning (and it becomes more of a feature as you get older) into your 30's.
Sterling will either be over or learning another position by 26-27 whereas Stones will be moving into his prime. Sterling is nearer to fulfilling his potential, but then I suppose that it also could be seen that Stones is ahead of where he should be for his age.

I can't get my head round Man twatty wanting to bid 40m for him, it's obsurd, his final ball and finishing are nowhere near what would be required from a 20m player.

It's crazy the price they are going to get for him, I am no way convinced Sterling will become World Class in the next 5 years, he's had one good season.

Them lot are holding out for 50m and it looks like them Manc mugs with more money than sense are going to pay it.

The Alternative Premier League Table 2015/16:

New fixtures have thrown up a fascinating situation for next season's APLT. Playing Stoke, the Derby and the five sides who finished above us in our opening seven away games will give us a par of 28 from the first fourteen matches. We more or less need to be perfect after the first 14 games to not lose points to par. This is what we need

Stoke (a) - 1
Bournemouth (h) - 3
Arsenal (a) - 1
West Ham (h) - 3
United (a) - 1
Norwich (h) - 3
Villa (h) - 3
Everton (a) - 1
Spurs (a) - 1
Southampton (h) - 3
Chelsea (a) - 1
Palace (h) - 3
City (a) - 1
Swansea (h) – 3

There are twelve Par 1 games, and after we play City away we will only have five more to play. So par for the remainder of the season after the opening fourteen would be 62 points from 24 games.

I don't know why anyone bothers playing anymore as this shower will always prove how they will win the league.......until of course Stoke give them a right stuffing in the first game, then all the numbers will be changed to again show how they will win the league.....then Bournemouth will beat them, then...........

Who cares. They will get £50M, £10M goes to QPR, they will then buy either 2 overpriced squad players from Southampton or 4 kids to loan out.......either way they will start the league less capable than the year before, and this has been happening for the last 5/6 years........

What exactly does this show them and what if their crazy calculations end up with Liverpool at the bottom do they just make up a new rule that makes them top again. There was a south westerly wind so disregard all the above, LIVERPOOL WIN.

I think I also read that Sterling is at a similar level to Rooney when he was that age, football is just awash with crazy people these days.

I know, the cheek of them to label us with the "win without winning" stick is heavily ironic.

KNearly spat my coffee out this morning. The RS hugging Mirror has a Fixtures Pull-Out today featuring their Season Ahead Predictions from their 11 football correspondents....the various League Champions, FA/League Cups. Not one single mention of the RS....and four of them have us as League Cup Winners. Kristian Kryin Arse Walsh no doubt will be preparing an OPTA stats-ridden critique in the Anfield Bugle....."for balance".

WTF is this? If there's any other sporting terminology they could use to describe how their season will unfold after the opening 14 games it's surely Brendan will be needing snookers if he's to keep his job beyond Christmas.

FIFA 16 fans are angrily threatening to boycott the 2016 version if Jordan Henderson wins the vote to appear on the front cover.

Over the years the FIFA cover has become synonymous with the world’s best footballers, with the likes of Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs, David Beckham and even Ronaldinho appearing on the UK version of the release

Having had seven years of Wayne Rooney as the cover boy, FIFA committed to Leo Messi who has been the mainstay since 2013 and was joined by Eden Hazard last season.

But now EA Sports have decided to let the UK fans vote on the Premier League star to join Messi on the cover this year with Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane,Thibaut Courtois and Jordan Henderson the available options – and guess who is winning…

I'm hoping the City owner now makes bids that go up by £1m each time until he finally hits the £50m valuation. You know, to waste their time in the market and that. We all know City will bid the amount eventually.
