He is a long way from world class but think Lucas is a pretty decent defensive midfielder - he's got a poor injury history but is one of the few from last seasons midfield who offered protection to their back four. Presume him leaving will mean emre Can will get a few more games in his preferred position though.Lucas. Balottelli. Coates.
So much weerld class talent leaving them this summer

Good point, going to be interesting to see if Rodgers keeps that promise.Perhaps, though dont forget he promised Milner that he would play in central midfield next season. Given that they already have Henderson, Xavi Bach and Can there - all of whom are Brendan's "successes" to one extent or another - I suppose Lucas was always going to be the one that got jibbed off.
Personally I think Coates is the one that will come back to bite him on the arse, he looked a lot better at Sland after Poyet was ran out of town and for all the average that he was when he played for the RS he was not really that much worse than Sakho, Toure or even Lovren for that matter. £2 million for him will make them all look like mugs if he keeps playing well.

Tbh never really noticed Coates one way or another, hope your prediction is right. Any idea what fee they orignally brought him for?
I wasn't aware they had any stars at all, unwanted or not.The Anfield club will now turn their attentions to offloading a clutch of their unwanted stars as they look to balance the books.
You forgot to mention the hard-done woe-is-me LFC professional victim. The FA is against us, it's a media witch hunt, we don't have any money, the refs are all bent (against us), the footballing establishment is scared of a successful LFC, modern football has no time for great old-fashioned traditional clubs like us, etc. etc. etc.haha he's almost nailed it - he has failed to mention the deludes (something differeing from the spreadsheets), the bitters (i.e. nobody else is allowed to take any credit for winning anything ever), the "blame somebody else" (i.e. it's not our fault ... because somebody else did something similar).
