ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Villa had the most crosses in the prem last season, the RS had the fewest.

They are going to completely have to change their style of play to accommodate Benteke.

This years Lambert

Just texted that to my RS supporting lad and got

''Worry about your own team you fat bell'' lol

Few minutes later.......''Clyne crosses loads so we will be ok''. Wonder if that's how Brendan sold the idea of Benteke to the yanks.

hopefully he spends more time in the treatment room than he does banging in the goals. A permanently fit Benteke would be a brilliant signing for them

£80m spent so far?

Careful Brenda, you're getting close to spending £100m and when you spend that much you'd expect to be winning the league...

In some ways Rosgers won't care. He know's he's in the last chance saloon. If he spends 30 mill on shrewd signings and finishes fifth he's fired. If he blows 150 mill and scrapes in fourth with a cup he might keep his job. I know which approach id be taking if my job was on the line. Better to be called too expensive than to underperform (although Rodgers has expertly managed to do both up to this point)

Loved Benteke as a player. Until today.
Twice the player Sterling is, 60% of the price.

Completely different players but Benteke will offer more goals, if he is serviced in the right way.

As has been mentioned it is going to be interesting to see how they adapt to play to his strengths. He is very good on the floor but he is defo not going to be one to drop deep and run at players, play on the last man or run the channels.

We bemoan the lack of true wide players at Everton, now and again, but they really don't have anybody (maybe Ibe but he is unproven, well in the eyes of any sane football fan anyway).

Is Benteke any improvement on what Andy Carroll looked like prior to when they bought him?

I don't think so.

If Benteke was as good as many on here fear, a better team than the RS would have been buying him.

I read a few days ago that with the sterling deal it comes to around 29 million net if they land Benteke.

They look like they have done good business, seems a lot better than last season.

I think Milner was the best deal they did this summer and he was a freebie.

Lol last season it was all lallana provides much needed flair, will keep Balo and studge well stocked with assists, Balo is an absolute steal at £16m, lovren will prove to be a bargain, matkovic is the best young player in Europe, lambert is a superb back up striker etc.
