It's a huge shame, because he seemed like a top bloke when he was at Swansea. Think he's just another victim of the Kopite machine, he's been sucked into this idea that he's in charge of an institution and one of the best clubs in der werld.

I still think he's a good manager, but he's got ideas way above his station.

With the structure at swansea his idea made sence and he had no big ego's to contend with so the players got down and played how he wanted.

Remember talking to some kopite mates in the pub around the time Hodgson was going through his hell.
One of the many criticisms they labeled at him was showing Ferguson too much respect. You know, the most successful manager in British football history. According to them, the first thing their boss should do is stick two finger up at Ferguson. When I was driving back from Southampton listening to the city phone in, every second call was about Suarez, and kopites blaming "Mr Ferguson" for the ban.

They are absolutely obsessed with utd and are beyond bitter. Utd don't share the same level of obsession. A team they share a city with are the current champions and thumped them at home last year 6-1. The RS should be focused on closing the gap on the teams that finished above them last year but instead they are obsessed about utd. Utd v RS makes me want to puke, who cares about watching 2nd v 8th from last year.

Any RS manager should look to lessen this obsession and focus entirely on Liverpool.

That's where Hodgson was going wrong. He could have got away with all the sh*t transfers if he'd just accused the media and Ferguson of a witch-hunt. It'd have bought him some time, at least. The kopites would have lapped it up and he'd have lasted longer. Rafael (Fachts speech), Kenny (t-shirts etc) and now to an extent Rodgers (Suarez diving/referees) have all done it and look at the support they got/are getting.

If we beat them in the derby it will be the beginning of the end for Brenda, we would potentially have a lead of 11 points over them with only a 1/4 of the season gone. No matter how many brentisms he comes up with the kopites will begin to turn on him.

I find the whole north west "derby" thing between them and united a bit weird, sure they're the two most successful teams in English football but when have they ever been rivals? Serious question - if Kenny Dalglish came out and did a live interview where he declared that the FA was under the influence of Sir Alex Ferguson, that Liverpool are being victimised at every turn, whether management, legend or player and the only solution was to commit mass suicide as a protest against the conspiracy... how many Liverpool fans do you think would kill themselves?

I'm being completely serious. It's got to the point now that if a Liverpool fan, who in every other respect is normal, can look me in the eye and without a trace of a windup say to me "Luis Suarez doesn't dive", then I'm convinced they're mentally ill or under some kind of cultist influence.
