ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Come on lad, it definitely is something to do with Hillsborough. Maybe it's not the spark for the making of the song but without the backdrop of it, you really think they'd have come up with it?

"Always.... never"

You seriously think they would have made that song up without the history? What happened before the Suarez issue other than that?

It only means what the people singing it intend it to mean. Sung by United fans, it may well reference Hillsborough, as both clubs regularly take the piss out of eachothers' disasters at games, but after the Hillsborough tribute and decades of 100% backing, it'd be a complete insult to suggest that Evertonians singing it has anything to do with Hillsborough. There are plenty of other reasons why that song applies to the RS.

That post has a bit of kopite about it if I'm being perfectly honest. I think many could use the possible airing of this song as an excuse to sour relations and attempt to bring blues down to theirs and United's level. I hope it doesn't get sung for this reason. If that were to happen, it'd be another reason why they're complete [Poor language removed] when it comes to footy, though.

Tbh this is what Liverpool fans Excel at making there mistakes into other peoples faults.

Where bitter because of the the 80s ban, everyone's out to get Suarez, the media is against them, even tho they back them at every chance. Every thing that goes against them it's because of some unforseen event that proves yet again(to them) the world is against them.

This is why I hate them more then every other club out there. I've tried to make my peace with them, but its ****ing impossible there such [Poor language removed]. Am sorry but they are.

I recall the European ban very well. We had NEC on our shirts. The vermin said it stood for 'No European Cup'. They thought it was hilarious. 39 dead and they dance on their graves over football rivalry.

I mentioned the European ban and the response was: 'You had decades to get into the European Cup but weren't good enough'.

And didn't KARMA kick in soon enough. Terribly so.

I would wish them everything they wish us, but I can't be that nasty.

They are the disgrace to our City.

Oh - by the way - did anyone see Rat Boy's antics last night? He got awarded a free kick - then gestured to the ref that it wasn't a free kick 'cause he 'dived'. Sarky scumbag. Got yellow carded for it - and rightly so.

I want Johnny to come on and maim the horror.

To be fair the words 'Always the victims with exception to Hillsborough, in this particular instance you were not at fault but in general it does seem to never be your fault' are not that catchy.

To be fair I admit ignorance I thought it was to about Hillsborough and there is probably Kopites who did think it was sung because of the tragedy.

If some of the Kopites did and may still think its to do with Hillsborough then I don't know why it has to be sung. It's only one song and there is a lot more to torment Suarez with.

If the song offends people - like some jokes can do then its stupid to carry it on. At the end of the day it's supposed to be banter nothing else.

There's about six examples before you posted - it's about the victim mentality and the conspiracy attitude.

And they DO have a victim mentality - as in scientifically - that's nothing to do with Hillsborough, it's about everything to do with that club. Just spend five minutes on RAWK to see it in action.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victim_mentality

"Victim mentality is an acquired (learned) personality trait in which a person tends to regard him or herself as a victim of the negative actions of others, and to think, speak and act as if that were the case - even if the absence of clear evidence."

They've actually developed a cultist attitude about victimisation too. They honestly believe everyone is out to get them - e.g. Alex Ferguson runs the FA, Howard Webb and Ferguson are gay lovers (being serious, I've heard that one and they weren't joking), Suarez is being hounded out of the country because Alex Ferguson is scared of him, Dalglish was victimised by the press on the behest of Alex Ferguson when he came back, they get no refereeing decisions because of bias against them etc. etc. etc.

Any criticism of a player is deflected away to someone else, as mentioned earlier. Suarez dives, but to them it's because he was fouled but the camera was at the wrong angle, or it was a "delayed reaction" or, if pressed hard on it, it "wasn't as bad as <insert player here>" or they'll talk about another completely separate issue ("what about Huth?")

Then you have Suarez/Evra - which I don't even need to go into. If that's not a clear example of always being a victim and never acknowledging blatant fault then nothing is.

There's loads of reasons why the chant "Always the victims, it's never your fault" sprung up - but it's mostly to do with the fact they believe they're always the victims and they never believe anything is their fault.

It has absolutely nothing to do with Hillsborough - it may have been hijacked for that reason (more than likely from LFC fans who hate it being sung at them) but it did not start out that way at all.

Everything and anything offends that shower, they are just like that pain in the arse mate that everyone knows who loves to joke about your mates but can't take it when the jokes on him!!!

Is right mate.

They hated it because it's true & they've wrongly tagged it as Hillsborough related to get rid of it. We sang it at them & I'm sure there wasn't a person singing it who was referencing Hillsborough.

I'll wager that by tea time on Sunday, irrespective of the result, there'll be some kopite bull****ter who 'spotted' someone at Goodison making reference to Hillsborough. Every fooking year they do it & every year there's never a scrap of evidence to back it up.

Talking of deflecting issues, there's a one-eyed fella on this Digital Spy forum called alan cracker who's always trying to deflect from Suarez at every opportunity, at various points of the thread he brings Bale's diving in to protect Suarez and even tries to change the subject to an apparent elbow by Felliani at Wigan which another impartial poster pulls him over. Don't know if his name has been brought on here before but he's always good value.

The actual thread was started as a pop at Stoke City but after Liverpool got held to a draw several of them including our friend came in to start bleating about Stoke's tactical approach (I was posting as EyeQuotient).

Some of the stuff on the forum as a whole in the Liverpool thread from the poster concerned and most notably around the time of the Suarez/Evra incident beggared belief. They are worth a review, even some of his fellow Liverpool fans raise eyebrows as he likes to portray himself as "a voice of reason", but which doesn't always come over with what he actually says.

He basically got me banned thanks to what he quoted at post 135 and he tried to get other posters on his side but infact they actually sided with me.

He also complained that police were not doing enough to find the Leeds fan who hit Kirkland and should have named him publicly because, you know, they couldn't find Raoul Moat, etc, so what about this one. It gets worse from him as the pages go on.

I see him as the reason I got banned. Almost all his posts are prefixed with "Now as DS users will know, I despise Ferguson...." or include "I hope so and so gets booed for that dive, but probably won't unlike Suarez"...

Frustratingly I can only post links when I get to 20 posts and will do if people want.

I've heard ALL of these in face to face conversation with kopites. It's not an internet thing and it's not just a few of them, either. They really are that f*cking deluded. Seriously, as Chico said in the match preview, they could seriously do with a relegation scare like we had. I think that'd sort most of them out.

cheers for the info mate - i'm sure he's not the only one. welcome to the forum from myself. Go and waste some posts in the Million post chat thread in the Ale House if you need to get to 20 quick

Why would you bother mate? We all know therse ****loads of deluded Kopies (just go onto RAWK), and from every club in fairness. The clubs that think themselves bigger usually tend to have more deluded fans. Because they have been successful in the past, they tend to think that entitles them to some now and will use any reason to justify why they aren't. I go to Uni in Newcastle, and you'd think they were challenging for the Prem every year the way some go on, even when they were relegated not so long ago and haven't even got a really impressive history.

I happen to think that the song is offensive and it wouldn't have been made without the past of the Hillsborough (got very strong feeling on that... know people involved etc) and the fact that Liverpool fans do think about it's Hillsborough, even when it might not be directly, is probably part of the reason some Utd fans sing it.
