MY question on the whole penalty incident is simply one thought.

How can a lad like Benteke, who is built like a brick wall fall over like that?

I mean if he was fast i'd understand him being clipped, but the lad is slower than the QE2, yet he goes down like he is Usain bolt.

And they demand £144.50 a year off everybody?!

Even Rupert Murdoch doesn't prosecute people for not paying their sky bill.
Back on topic terrible decision. They must have gotten nearly as many points from refs than we have dropped through late switching off.

I agree with the two questions mate.

Benteke to speak to Dave Whelan about serious injury after the shocking foul at Selhurst Park. The Belgian striker, Christian Benteke looks sure to miss Euro 2016 and possibly much of next season after going through the pain barrier to net a penalty after the shocking, career threatening tackle on him by Damien Delaney. The brave striker lifted himself off the deck and crashed the resultant penalty past McCarthy. It was only later that the Liverpool medical team discovered the hairline fracture to his tibia and other complications.

Boss Klopp confirmed the diagnosis and admitted it was "gegendepressing" after the magnificent win for his brave charges.

Delaney could face up to 6 match ban for the shocking foul for which the referee didn't have the ideal view. Andre Marriner may review the video evidence later this week.

Jamie Carragher: Liverpool players don’t dive, it was a clear penalty

JAMIE CARRAGHER has defended Christian Benteke, insisting: It was a clear penalty, Liverpool players don’t dive.
The Liverpool striker was brought down in the penalty area — in the 94th minute — by Crystal Palace defender Damien Delaney, with many feeling the Belgian went down easily.
However, speaking on Sky Sports after the game, Carragher was confident that Benteke was touched — with fellow pundit Thierry Henry agreeing.
When asked if the right decision was made, the former Reds defender said: “[It was] 100 per cent.
“As soon as I saw it I thought it was a penalty.

Was it a penalty to Liverpool?

“Liverpool players don’t dive.
"It was a stupid decision to dive in and [Delaney] just clipped with his right knee Christian Benteke's left ankle and it's a penalty.
"I don't think it's a debate."

Henry went on to say that at first he was unsure, but on second glace was inclined to agree with his colleague.
Meanwhile, ten-man Liverpool’s man of the hour Benteke claimed that he believes he was touched — saying he wouldn’t go down with no contact.
Benteke said: “To be sure, I think he touched me otherwise I don’t go down.
“I think the ref knows better than us and he took the right decision.
“This is part of football you have to ready when the manager needs you and I tried to do my best today, we won and I am really happy.”
Reds boss Klopp echoed the trio’s sentiment, saying he too thought it was a penalty.
He said: “It was a penalty, bad luck for the defender but he hit the foot with his knee, otherwise Benteke is in a good position for a shot.”

When the knee touched his ankle he was already half way down by then. worlds worst dive, no surprise though...see below

This one sentence has him bang to rights in all honestly. If your taken down, you know they've touched you cause they've knocked you over. the very fact that Carra21 has stated that Liverpool players don't dive has called in to question his ability to comment on Liverpool games without bias.

After a short period out of the squad with injury, Beelzebub made his comeback yesterday I see.....

Last second dodgy penalty to Liberpuuul? Surely not......

I think the best part of the Delaney debate is that Moreno stuck out a leg vs aguero in the final and tripped him up, apparently it was some sort of 'simulation'. Wtf is simulation ? You either dived or was fouled, then there is the argument about intent. Football has introduced so many laws and by laws that it has become one big mess.

liverpool fans in work

justifying it was a penalty...............

why? Whats the point? Just say he went down too easy and you know, sod it, we'll take that for a winner! A alot better than simply having a giant explanation to something...........sorry i forgot it was liverpool i was talking about.

Wonder how suarez's dark skinned grandad is these days speaking in his unracist language?
