With the hopeful good news today coming from the courts does this day mean a certain phrase stops being used by them lot to tag onto everything?

it wont end today mate, if the jury return with an unlawful killing, there'll be pressure for a criminal trial, if the jury return with a 'no' to that question, there will be pressure as to why that wasnt the finding. I'm not saying whether its right or wrong but it wont end today.

I meant if it came back as the correct verdict mate.

Well we can only hope it is the correct verdict anyhow.

As much grief as I like to give them I would just like to say that I hope justice for those who lost their lives 27 years ago is given today.

Agree - listened to the article on the Today programme on Radio 4 this morning, it was harrowing.
It could have been prevented.
The year before we were at Hillsborough and the crush in the centre terracing was horrendous due to everyone being 'herded' down that tunnel.
I had a mate with me who had really bad knees and I was yelling like mad at the stewards/coppers to open the gates to the side sections as I was really worried about Steve.
Thankfully they did, or it could have been us.

I imagine the police will be found culpable. A majority view is accepted. Still, it's rare for the state to level that at the Police so let's see. It was a jury after all so there is hope.

Happy Slip-mass everybody!!!

Yes its that wonderful time of the year when the whole country apart from that deluded shower over the park and their acolytes within the media celebrate the Slipmass anniversary. I wonder if Clintons have got any cards available to send, missing a trick if they aint x

It must have been the case at every game with a large away following imo, the place where you had a brew etc was in the yard behind the stand so the direct way in for everyone there just before kick off was through that tunnel.
Was it Spurs v Wolves that was there in the 70's ? and there's video footage of fans scaling fences to escape the crush and so many similarities with 1989 it's untrue.

Yeah Spurs vs Wolves in '81 should've set the alarm bells ringing about that ground. There were problems in '88 as well.

The authorities did not give a flying one. We're all old enough to remember what they thought of football fans back then.

There was no thought for the safety of fans back then, i got crushed at West Brom during our cup run in 89 and there were problems at Barnsley in the same run when they decided to only open half the terrace behind the goal and that became dangerously overcrowded.
