On a (much) lighter note:

Sakho shock - Liverpool defender declines B sample test.

He'll plead "mitigating circumstances" apparently - I'm struggling to conceive what they might be. "I just wanted to be super-thin", presumably.
I blame society for putting to much emphasis these days on being skinny.nobody wants a plus size footballer anymore.must be heartbreaking for the poor lad to be watching all these skinny young footballers these days and poor sakho is just looking in the mirror every morning thinking how fat he is:D

Supposedly a 'fat-burning' medication...

Why would a professional footballer need a fat burning drug? Also, don't fat burning drugs have something similar to speed in them.

What I wondered as well. Apparently, certain fatburning drugs can be used as masking agents for steroids or other drugs because the diuretic action can help flush the system or corrupt the usual tests.

As has been posted, the fellas been caught out cheating cause the slimming agent blatantly stops them finding performance enhancing drugs.

The parents of kids at 10 are made aware they can't take certain substances and this is top of the highest category of banned drugs.

He'll get at least a 6 month ban for this, that's the bare minimum......cheat.

Will they still have to pay him?

I wouldn't know about that mate, I suppose it's up to the club but I hope he gets 12 months plus and it's actually whilst footballs being played, not ongoing in July.

He'll have been on all kinds of performance enhancing drugs here though hence why he probably doesn't want the 2nd test in case they find them also.

Exact same offence & substance as Kolo Toure isnt it ?

If that is the case then the precedence is already set with a 3 month ban.

It should be a ban based on an amount of games in my opinion & a close season highlights why, although he will miss the Euros.

How long do the results of a test take though ? The positive is from 1 of the games against Utd so has he played games whilst the result was known ? Dortmund being 2 of them ... that went to the last touch of the game almost, but also a game that was even closer - The Derby.

Obvious, surely? 'I was playing for Liverpool FC at the time' - should be enough to get him off with a caution...

Yup may as well be as the ban will consist of missing the last few games and euros. Should be ready for the 1st game of next year alongside his smackrat mate toure.

Meanwhile loveable old King Kenny racist "Cilla Loving" Dogleash should off had a knighthood by then with possibly aldo getting a Obe. Whilst those wall pushing, Dj bashing, faeces in a cup, piss, pavement and seat throwing fans get all their nefarious deeds expunged from history as the nation is ordered to fall in love with them or else be excluded from society at every level.

I truly despair, they are the Mother Teresa of football or the "emperor's new clothes"

When I read the guidelines I had for this, I am sure the minimum ban he could now get was 6 months and that was with positive mitigation.

I am not sure 3 months is even an option now although i may be wrong on this.
