Their EL success shows that we should've get rid of our version of B-ROD ASAP. There was no point in letting him stay until the end of the season

are you mad? they won the league cup 4 years ago?

plus they actually got to the league cup final, they have got to europa leage final, and here is us moaning about the ball crossing the line when technically we were still through at that point.

I'm sorry but although it is fashionable to [Poor language removed] them off over everything, we are nowhere near even getting close to their sorts of records in the last 20 years

hell we were 45 minute away from the final twice this year, got battered last year when we just needed to not concede goals, sat off in 2011, outplayed in 2009, didn't even try 2006/7 (league cup semi).

If passion from the fans makes a difference like that then there you go.

English teams by trophies from 2006-07 season on.

Manchester United: 1 Champions league, 5 leagues, 2 league cups.
Chelsea: 1 Champions League, 1 europa league, 2 leagues, 4 FA cups, 2 league cups.
Man City: 2 Leagues, 1 FA cup, 2 league cups
Leciester: 1 League
Arsenal: 2 FA cups
Portsmouth: 1 FA Cup
Wigan: 1 FA Cup
Tottenham: 1 league cup
Swansea: 1 league cup
Birmingham: 1 league cup
Liverpool: 1 league cup

Look at their passion and their confidence and their determination lads. Relentless winners they are. Got a record as good as birmingham city's and worse than wigans.

Better than us though, and that's what matters the most

Where is our name on that list? Also 6 years before that was 2 FA cups, uefa cup, league cup, european cup ansd whatever else they got.

#Justsaying

City/chelsea/united had money or alex ferguson to win things with. the others, Birmingham/portsmouth/wigan all relegated.

Point is, yes we should be more passionate, jesus bar the away fans it is sometimes hard to see where our supporters are actually enthusiastic about the team. Even now they are more than happy to sit in silence rather than even start a chant against the manager they want gone. Away fans, cant fault them.

We don't care about Swansea, Liverpool are our rival though.

Listen obviously I don't like liverpool winning things. But this last decade has been their least succesful since like the 1950s.

And again they have been one of the 5 biggest spending teams in europe. By any reasonable objective they have failed horribly.

So have we of course.

But so many defeatists on here act like they win a trophy every year and that we need to learn from them, their confidence, their passion, their never say die attitude. It's just bollocks. They are failiures. Who threw away a league title, lost their last 2 domestic cup finals and their last european one. And have been less succesful trophy wise in the last 10 years than a 4th division team.

They're not the invincible winners they're painted as. And if we're looking to steal another club's secrets of success we should steal chelseas or uniteds or citys, you know actual winners. Not the strategy of a team currently in 8th.

Although you are not wrong in what you say, and i want to appreciate that, there is a huge difference.

If we had a never say die attitude we wouldn't have gone 21 years without a trophy. In fact we would have won one this season alone, with a second one to come very soon. instead every oppertunity we have got over the last what, 13 years? We have bottled it every single time. we bottle every semi, every final. So yes, i would love us to have this never say die attitude and a bit of passion in the team just once, because we might actually not bottle the cup that year and we can have a bit of bloody success here.

Klopp's a good manager

We best steel ourselves for the possibility that they're going to enjoy some success in these next few years

Two finals already with that crap team? No doubt about it Klopp's winning a thing or two with them. And then when he creates his own side, I don't want to imagine.

We need a a great manager. Koeman very Klopp? Pellegrini? Who can we get to match him or better him.
