Makehindsightworkinium is the most wonderfully unattainable element in the universe, so nothing can be done about last nights game, despite all of us wanting otherwise
BUT something can and will be done about the future.
Look at Klopp in the post match interview last night. He's had to cajole, push and wheedle players who he had no say in being at the club, into performing. He succeeded to a large extent, but this is a man who knows that now the season is over and what we need to do next year, no longer has to mollycoddle players. He knows which ones is worth the extra effort and who will deliver for him, equally, he knows the ones that are lost causes who will only deliver on occasions. He sees everything on a daily basis and I get the impression that he has known what's needed for quite a while, but he's had to work with what he's got in the meantime. The squad needs surgery, but not open heart - it needs a tonsillectomy and a not of cosmetic surgery as well.
The lack of Champions league will not be that much of a blocker in getting who we want. Players will recognise that Klopp is something special and the lure of completely focussing on the league and having a realistic tilt at winning it at Liverpool with him, is where my money is at on how the club will be sold to players he wants. Most of them will not be household names anyway methinks
Sometimes you need to go backwards to go forwards. Hindsight as I've said is a pointless thing unless you learn from mistakes and we will. from the top down, with the advent of the new Main stand to Klopp himself, we're in a new era with a genuinely World class manager. Ranieri has charisma and players have obviously gravitated to him - Klopp is of the same ilk. You're drawn to him and you want to follow.
This is not just about Klopp though, this is about the club. Liverpool Football Club. Yeah, defeat hurts (my lad was crying his eyes out last night - I can sympathise, but for different reasons!) Players will go. New players will take their place. Such is the way of the World. We'll have new heroes to worship, we'll have new pitchforks to sharpen for others, but next season is what matters now. When we sacked Rodgers partway through the season, I knew this year was a write off. This was Klopps freebie and if we're all honest, we've shown in quite a few instances, that we're more than capable of being THE side, even with what we had.
Think about what it will be like next year.
Forget last night and look to next season already. I've never been more wanting a season to start than the next one. Thanks for Dortmund, the Mancs and Villarreal. Thanks for Norwich away. Man City. Chelsea away. Thanks for those, as they are the markers for next year. Lets take the Crystal Palaces, Sunderlands, West Hams and make them equally as memorable.
Come on you REDMEN! let Jurgen deal with what's needed and let's be at 'em for next time around both on and off the pitch.
He'll get sacked from his job, banned for life by the club, and is the laughing stock of all Evertonian......yep, that's him. Slagged little Everton before the game and got chinned during it. All on film, all being watched worldwide.
Any other season in the Europa League it's 'Thursday night Channel 5' yawn in the national press. Pre-match coverage in the Mail had about 10 different articles on the final.Say what you want about that shower, they've always been massively high profile and sort of revered in the press.
I never thought I'd see the day when one of their employees (particularly one who has only been there a few months) would actually be bigger than the club.
Look at the headlines from last night:
Star: "Klopp's Euro Agony"
Times: "Klopp Agony as Liverpool Blown Away"
Guardian: "Coke kills Klopp's Dream"
Express: "Coke Fizz Floors Klopp"
Mail: "Klopp Flops"
Times: "Klopp's Flops"
getting terrored if he is. Not by me though, I'm a sensible grown man. People from the Swan are blurts though tbf.Claims on twitter that Fanta Scruff is a security guard at Iceland in Old Swan
Whats that? Ive missed that? His image will be frozen in time for ever.
