ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

They are shopping at Pound Land again whilst Chelsea Man City and Man Utd are shopping at Waitrose.

True to an extent. Klopp has however shown over at Dortmund that he's pretty shrewd in the transfer market so I wouldn't smile with glee yet.
He is buying stop gaps though. The committee have bought mane and Wijnaldum strikes as a couthino replacement. The centre halves were stop gaps rather than full blown transfers.

If anything Liverpool haven't really improved themselves so far despite the money spent. Their midfield at the minute is going to have a massive hole in it between attack and defence.

£6m for Smith and £15m for Ibe from Bournemouth they've reaped, great business from them. This is why Howe is so overrated.

Bournemouth remind me of that strange old bloke who bought all the videos off charity shops and market stalls thinking he is getting bargains and is going to be quids in because they where ace in the 80s.

Poor sod hasn't even realised that the industry has moved on and they are now obsolete.

Agree.

Their defence and midfield still stinks.

Why would anyone pay a combined fee of 20m for Smith and Ibe?
They're English so that automatically adds on a few extra digits to a number. Add to that the influx of TV money and fears of future quota changes.

Certainly not worth anywhere near that value on current analysis, but if somebody is willing to pay that much then I'm sure Liverpool will be happy.

We paid 28m for Lukaku

There paying 20m for Smith and Ibe, Utter madness

I agree, but it isn't as simplistic as that when you consider it's two years later, they're getting two players and importantly they're both British.

Now Lukaku for £28m is a great deal compared to what they're paying for those two, but it's difficult to fairly compare the two situations.
