Probably a pipe dream, but as and when the Blues eventually leave Goodison it would be brilliant if Everton redeveloped the ground as houses to truly give something back to the local community... As against the reprehensible behaviour of our neighbours across the park.

There are a number of ideas knocking about already which would include EiTC, local community leaders and other interested parties. The community value of Goodison's land is probably much greater than the development value, so I'm hopeful the legacy of the greatest club ground in the country will be a positive one, not just marked by a plaque in a housing estate saying the centre circle used to be here.

honestly i'd turn it back into a park, the city is sorely lacking in green spaces

a nice park with a few artworks to remember that it was GP

Playing fields for the school and the area, some decent housing authority flats, and a youth club would be good.

I can't believe that the club is dependent upon the sale proceeds of GP counting towards the new stadium development so hopefully large-scale housing estates, supermarkets and god forbid a car park for matchdays at Anfield will not be on the agenda.

Shameful And Shameless

If a new ground elsewhere isn't dependant on the sale of the land then leave as is and give kids the opportunity to play there where so many Legends of the game have played, Junior clubs, schools etc. a living Museum of Football.
The stands could be scaled down if they are as inefficient as is led to be believed, maybe rebuilt in a way that they were many moons ago, a kind of replica of the originals on some sides but keep the Leitch designs.

I refer you good sirs to my previously mentioned vision for our legacy...

I'm very glad someone's raised this. It's vital that in the excitement of a potential move we don't disregard over a century of ours and football's heritage. I'd like to see something echoing Goodison remain and helping to bring new life to that area as well, affordable housing, commemorative space, a home for the David France collection, St Luke's, The Wilmslow, The Blue Dragon should all be preserved.
But most of all, I think the greatest gift we could bestow on the site of our former home, the sacred patch of land that holds so many memories, ecstatic and exasperating would be this..
The base of a new landmark for the city, a majestic tower rising hundreds of feet into the air, illuminated in Royal Blue, with a giant, gently flashing arrow pointed directly at another former home, emblazoned with the words: "TITHEADS --->"

Yeah, I think I'd like that. I'd like that a lot.

After seeing this monstrosity and what West Ham are calling a football stadium

I'm quite happy with Goodison and it's money cladding.
I'm really excited to see how the supporters rationalise this clear slap in the face by their owners... Massive girder in the way, but "I don't need to see the pitch to feel part of it #YNWA" ?

Maybe it's just for acoustics to make them sound louder on the telly?
