ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

How can some posters be so relaxed about the RS this season? They have a quality team, a quality manager (although admittedly, he is a super-cringey bellend) and a fluid attacking style of play. I don't rate many of their players as highly as some do (especially Coutinho), but they easily have the capability to win the league within that squad. They've only lost 1 match so far (a blip away at Burnley who just turned us over at Turf Moor), and are joint top of the league, despite playing nearly all of the main contenders away already.

Look at their competitors:

Man City - falling apart with Guardiola's Martinez-esque tactics. Fraudulent manager who needs the best players in the world to win.
Man U - non-existent in title race. Behind even us ffs.
Spurs - playing really well, but always bottle it.
Chelsea - already lost at home to the RS.
Arsenal - ditto both Chelsea and Spurs.

Unfortunately, I think the RS will win it. It would be a torture I have never experienced before, and never ever want to in my lifetime. But you need to be realistic. Anyway, I'm praying that one of Spurs or Arsenal get it together! Another Slippy G moment or Crystanbul would be a perfect antidote. I still remember how delirious they were after we supposedly deliberately lost that home game against Man City. RAWK was brilliant that day.

Ok mate.

Just a thought, considering they are struggling to keep the ball out the net each game, what happens when teams counter their style and shut them out and nick one on a break or set piece? Say West ham do it, then the following week stoke do it, they won't look as good then?

I get what tou are saying and yes they have looked good so far. but defensively they are massively poor still, matip and the other fella are not the same level as even skyrtle and agger, they are weak at the back, even moreno is struggling.

All it takes is someone to figure out how to beat their high pressing and for the next manager to notice as well. Remember Klopp done the exact same thing and took dortmund from top to bottom of the league simply because he was found out, with a far better team as well.

(oh and little heads up, he won a league which only had 2 contenders, this league has 4-5 he has to overcome)

The difference between Klopps RS and Rodgers RS is night and day. Looking at some of the other posts here, you're own your own. I understand you hate them but to deny the obvious improvement is making you look foolish. Is it really impossible for you to have a sensible discussion about them? You're showing yourself up as being uneducated and lacking simple football knowledge.

ha, behave. klopp's RS will get nowhere near as close to the title as rodgers'. He was the best manager you've had in the PL era and you dumped him you fools.

I'm of the school they'll win it. The stars aligning for them.
  • City's new manager taking time to change the club
  • Utd being rubbish
  • Chelsae looking average
  • Spurs and Arsenal always managed to mess it up.
  • Klopp turning average players into worldies. Oh how we laughed at the likes of Lallana when they signed him.
  • No Europe
  • Seem to have played most their hard games already with a decent return.
Lets just hope they get a raft of injuries around Christmas. If they're up there at Easter, they'll win it.

Hello Bobski mate

Since being re-admitted into European competition (25 years ago) - 2nd legs at Home or Away (not including any Group stage matches - final games of group stages 6 home, 6 away).

Home 47 Away 19 (71%)

Just a coincidence I guess

1964-1985 36-30

Total 83-49 (63%)

FA Cup in same time frame: 71-84
League Cup in same time frame: 80-78

(excluding neutral semis/finals)

if ever a draw typified this it is last seasons league cup semi, we draw city (the hardest team) away 2nd leg while they draw Stoke (the "easiest") home 2nd leg. TBF no one was even surprised...in fact the papers had printed the draw before it had even happened
