ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

I'm honestly a bit shocked

What was being said?

Basically backing the Irish bloke who kicked off about the disabled season ticket holder of thirty odd years, for want of a better word wanting them either seggregated completely and there seats to go to proper supporters, some craps trying to blame them for lack of atmosphere as well, a lot worse than this but that's the mild gist of it, tbf a few did try tell them it was out of order but where either shot down, banned or abused, but then again the thread was a mod started one with a rant first post supporting the banned bloke and laying into the pensioner and his wife.

It was a stupid place to run the banner, right in front of wheelchair bound fans who can't stand up to see over it. I'd be seriously annoyed.

You mean, the same place numerous other banners of that type have been held in recent years? And literally the only place that such a banner could work.

Imagine some of these going to Dortmund or Bayern where flags and banners are waved during the game. Call the police there's an atmosphere.

It's quite a simple concept.

If your on the kop, your the 12th man.

If you want a good view, there's 3 other stands or your tv, Internet stream.

It isn't about wheels or wools, you either get that point, accept it, or f off.

Wow

Even on the RAWK sliding scale, that's unbecoming

I don't give a s***e if the people attending are disabled, abled, young old, local, oocer, I really don't, if you want a spec on the kop, you take it warts n all, you make sacrifices, and your there to do a job - vocal support.

So I re-iterate for anyone thinking of going and who's lucky enough to get a ticket, leave your camera and sense of entitlement at home, cos your killing the kop, slowly and surely and it will kick off, it will become nasty, because frankly we are all a little f'ed off with bellends taking their place in the kop, putting their own interest and desires ahead of those seasoned regulars who put the time, effort and dedication to make it something half decent resulting in them being treated like criminals, so please get it or f off.

jesus, how many times can someone get your wrong when they mean.

Obviously not the biggest worry with this person, because their lack of intelligence shines through in their views.

I looked at RAWK once, it was just after I joined GOT and read the comments about it. I swore I would never look at it again, the language is shocking, the mods there are worse than anyone, and the comment above sums it up.

I know some of them are probably nice people and would cringe at this but an awful lot of them do have this entitlement mentality, and quite simply it makes them horrible beyond belief, this together with their self pity attitude, is it any wonder people can't bear them.

Its the perfect website for them.

The irony is that LFC have a disabled supporters association (LDSA) and part of their constitution is....

MINIMUM STANDARDS
- Every disabled supporter to have the opportunity to sit with/alongside own supporters.
- All disabled people to be treated with respect by all members of the club staff and match day stewards.
- Wheelchair users: unobstructed view of pitch at all times, to have shelter from the weather, all seating areas to be positioned in safe areas.
- Visually Impaired: the choice to sit anywhere in the ground; LFC to ensure the provision of a dedicated audio descriptive commentary with suitable equipment; clubs to make provisions for Guide Dogs; information available in alternative formats upon request.
- Hearing Impaired: the choice to sit anywhere in the ground; a text phone in ticket office; an induction loop in ground.
- Ambulant disabled: a recognised definition of what constitutes an ambulant disability; accessible seating, with good sightlines and extra legroom.

. Aims & Objectives
The LDSA will act in partnership with Liverpool Football Club (LFC) to address issues affecting disabled supporters relating to stadium access, pitch view, parking, disabled toilet and catering facilities, and any other matters relating to facilities for disabled people. The aims and objectives of the LDSA are to raise the standard of facilities offered to disabled people in that:
(1) All supporters must be able to enjoy a parity of experiences when attending a football match or event.
(2) LFC staff and officials should have received disability equality training.
(3) LFC should maintain the appointment of a dedicated Disability Liaison Officer (DLO).
(4) LFC should have a disability policy that details the clubs’ policies, practices and procedures for all aspects of the club's operations.
(5) LFC should have fully accessible information services that include web sites, TV channels, and information that is available in alternative formats upon request.
(6) A senior member of the management board of LFC to have a responsibility for all disability issues.
(7) The club to meet every aspect of Accessible Stadia.
(8) The club to meet the 'Green Guide' recommendations for numbers of disabled people in every category.

Maybe someone should read them out s-l-o-w-l-y to the ignoramuses who, by inaction contra, think its fair game to ridicule disabled people on a fans forum.
