It was a stupid place to run the banner, right in front of wheelchair bound fans who can't stand up to see over it. I'd be seriously annoyed.

You mean, the same place numerous other banners of that type have been held in recent years? And literally the only place that such a banner could work.
Imagine some of these going to Dortmund or Bayern where flags and banners are waved during the game. Call the police there's an atmosphere.

It's quite a simple concept.
If your on the kop, your the 12th man.
If you want a good view, there's 3 other stands or your tv, Internet stream.
It isn't about wheels or wools, you either get that point, accept it, or f off.
From our man "KiNki" again
I don't give a s***e if the people attending are disabled, abled, young old, local, oocer, I really don't, if you want a spec on the kop, you take it warts n all, you make sacrifices, and your there to do a job - vocal support.
So I re-iterate for anyone thinking of going and who's lucky enough to get a ticket, leave your camera and sense of entitlement at home, cos your killing the kop, slowly and surely and it will kick off, it will become nasty, because frankly we are all a little f'ed off with bellends taking their place in the kop, putting their own interest and desires ahead of those seasoned regulars who put the time, effort and dedication to make it something half decent resulting in them being treated like criminals, so please get it or f off.
When Dwight Gayle retires there'll be a celebration in my house.Thing is about Gerrard is that most sane football supporters will say he was a good/great/brilliant player. (delete as applicable).
But proper football supporters, like 99% of them, (not the sky infested johnny come latelys) are not idiots. They know a flaw in a player or a person, and they certainly think the Skytatsic painting of modern football is a load of tripe.
That is why that slip, that implosion, and that group of fans are ridiculed at every ground they play at with the Gerrard song. Like I am sure John Terry gets dogs abuse at Spurs and that from being a FKW when they won the CL, but I cannot recall ever, a single slip being so relished at every ground in the country, 2, 3 years after it happened.
Makes them special. Kind of.
I'd buy him a pint and give him a hearty handshake if I ever saw him out. When Dwight Gayle retires there'll be a celebration in my house.
I doubt they even know where The Woolpack is.I'd buy him a pint and give him a hearty handshake if I ever saw him out.
Unfortunately I don't drink in the same places as pro footballers so it's unlikely.
Spoilt rotten the lot of themI doubt they even know where The Woolpack is.
not surprised one little bit. It's a pity these words on Gerrard came from El Hadj Diouf, because they utterly nail that tin pot legend....
“People told me at Liverpool, there was some guys you could not touch, but I touched them. That is why it was complicated for me. When I arrived I showed him he was nothing at all. He was nothing at all. I asked him to tell me in which big competition, Euros or World Cup, people think about him."
"For me in Liverpool, he was not just a player like anyone else. He had to work and play his football as I had to work and play my football. Then as you know, there were some brown-nosers, who went to the manager to repeat what I said. That was the real problem. When Gerrard did that, we had an argument, like real men. That is why he does not like me. He knows I say what I think, that when it is not right, no problem, I am up for it. He could not, he was afraid of looking into my eyes. He was afraid of talking to me."
