ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

There's a small part of me that wants Chelsea to draw with Spurs tonight so our noisy neighbours fume about missing out a chance to narrow the gap.

The rest of me hopes Chelsea have the title wrapped up by mid-March and wallop Spurs tonight to increase the gap.

Prevenger17. You questioned my credentials of being a Blue, because I said I quite like Klopp. Am I not allowed to like someone from the other side without raising suspicion of being a red? I'm questioning yours. Your 31? And you only started getting into footy in you early twenties? So, about 7-10 years ago. By your own admission, you hated the RS before you started following us. Tells me a lot about the type of supporter you are.
Of course, there's nothing wrong with getting into it late in life, but I'm not having someone like you raising suspicions of me. I was there thru the 80s, one of the best games/memories of my life v Bayern. I've seen us win the League. I've spent thousands following this club. I was born a Blue, my kids are Blues. We're not fans because footy became hip. We're proper fans.

The people who like this post are also under suspicion by @Kurt Dharma bum is now known as twitchy bum under kurts eye of suspicion :bye:

@Prevenger17 has only been into footy for 7-10 years?!

@Kinghowie you nailed it in that post. I like Klopp the manager and would have him over RK in a flash, as would any sane football person. But Klopp the person? No thanks. He is unhinged and will punch a ball boy before next season I reckon.

Unfortunately for Kopites, Klopp the person comes with Klopp the manager as a full package.

I don't recall "bitter blue" being used until much later personally
No I didn't mean immediately either. They tagged us with that once they realised it wasnt a knee jerk...it wasn't going to go away. Their take on our bitterness relates not so much to the veracity of our claim but intrinsically that weve had the nerve to maintain it over the years thus picking the scab of Heysel.

Good on the RS board though for tapping into the Zeitgeist of their club and finding a nutjob who talks total (Red)Sh***.

Plus, of course, they didn't cough up any compo to get him.

I think the "bitter" tag is a hangover from when they were winning cups in the early to mid 00s. Despite us finishing above them and playing more successful football then we had for years before, and arguable since, we had nothing to show for it and to watch them lift the three handle cup etc. Schadenfreude became the norm. No different to other rivalries but the bitter tag has stuck IMO

Did I miss this period??

We've been absolutely bang average at best for the last 30 years.

Hope Chelsea go 8 clear tonight

I'm starting to look at it the other way now.

I don't give them a hope of winning the league and I am starting to question whether I should want Spurs to win so they start the slip back in to the obscurity of 6th and below.

I think that's more realistic than a title challenge to be be honest.

Ah ok, I appreciate the response. That's fair enough, but the term "bitter" doesn't fit in that context does it? The phrase "unsuccessful" or if we are being harsh "useless"/"irrelevant" might fit would be a reasonable term, but just because you win trophies doesn't mean your rivals supporters become "bitter".

We're bitter about them. They are bitter about us, Both Mancs, Chelsea and just about any other team except maybe Dortmund for now.
Nah they have a soft spot for City it's their second team. Man City get an extremely easy ride on RAWK despite being just another Chelsea (who ironically they hate.)

Utter rubbish but it will cause a fume fest

Ano what ur saying but I'd rather Chelsea pull a bit further, there's still time for them to fall
