ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Remember in transfer windows when we had no money to spend we used to wheel out a new contract for a player to hide from the fact we were not signing anyone?

Coutinho been in talks for months apparently, my guess is he agreed at least a month or 2 ago, they saved the announcement for now to keep the fans off the boards back!

All we need now is a "we will go with what we got" statement from Klopp and they have transformed into Moyes' Everton
Klopp did say they were having trouble signing players from other clubs this window. I think it is also a factor that no player that is actually good wants to play for them either which they are keeping secret. The Transfer committee is probably compiling a list of what southampton and sunderland players they want in the summer.

Obviously they'll be chuffed he's signed, if nothing else it increases his value when he's sold.

Can't help but think this is a diversion tactic though, considering they haven't signed anyone this window (that I know of), it might be to keep the locals on side

Do they really need anyone at this point?

Doesn't Klopp just need to be a tad more defensive tactically and they're golden?

I never really watch them so I can't properly comment, but I was led to believe the issues were more down to tactics than personnel?

He can be as tactically defensive as he wants, won't make a difference with the gash defenders they have. Their whole game is based on pressing the opposition so it can't put as much pressure on their back four and whatever sieve they have in goal.

They needed a new reliable back 5 and a genuine goal scorer, Sturridge and Origi but found wanting

True this. No tactics on the planet will turn Lovren and Clyne into good defenders.

Think I heard Klopp also say that they won't pay the ridiculous transfer fees being asked.

What RS fans never seem to understand is the reason they have a good attack but a rubbish defence is because they overloads lots of players in attack. It's basically the reverse Pulis who brags about having a great defence but has every man behind the ball. All this 'as soon as we fix the defence' talk is rubbish. Whenever Rodgers or Klopp has tried to focus on the defence they stop scoring goals. Their 'best attack in der league' is based on a kamikaze style that can completely overwhelm teams but leaves them open at the back. If they tried to play a balanced game they'd realise that lo and behold Lallana Mane Origi Wijnaldum are not some of Europe's best attacking players and struggle to break teams down.

When an opposition team is smart, sits back, plays on the counter, then Liverpool are massively vulnerable regardless of who they have in defence. It's only the stupid sides like us who come out trying to stroke it round pushing the full backs on then have a panic attack when their entire 10 outfield players rush them.

I can't believe that 'the biggest club in the world' have not made an offer for Joe Hart, as both their current goalies are dodgy (except when they play Everton).
