I reckon we buy him, we could do with a father figure.

That might be the case but I think as a blue it's a win win because Rodgers is the one trying to build a wage structure so if sterling gets the money I'm not sure it's the managers decision which is great and if they didn't offer him substantially more than the £20k offer I'm pretty confident he's off .
He's fallen for all the media hype about himself. Can't see anyone wanting to come in for him if he's asking for silly money. Vastly over-rated, another Cadermateri in the making.

it would be a bad day for football if rodgers doesn't win this though. either teenager gets his way by demanding extortianate amounts of money or owners don't agree with manager and accept teenager's plea.

Did they really buy him for £5 mill?
When your paying joe cole over a £100k a week and sterling features regularly as a business decision it probably makes sense to up your offer though don't you think ? As i understand its Rodgers that sees it as odds with his strategy so it'd certainly be a bad day for him if the board force his hand.
Dont know if it is similar, but look at the teenagers Southampton have lost over the years; Shearer, Walcott, Ox, probably more I expect. Liberpol, Southampton of the North.

at least they got good amounts of money for them - bale included. think they were more going to a better club rather than moving for free because they weren't being spoilt enough
yeah i understand that, not rodgers' fault though. he's trying to sort out the mess that dalgleish created and if the owners don't support him and instead favour a money grabbing teenager then that would be bad. Obviously we're all expecting a footballer to be greedy in this day and age, any other club and i would like to see the player show a bit more respect for a team. it's not exactly a case (barring a career ending injury) where he'll never earn enough money in his career to live a bad lifestyle. He'll be earning 70,80k etc a week one day anyway, not sure what difference it'll make. seriously don't see the difference between earning 70k and 90k a week anyway, way too much money for one person eventually
