ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

It will be a big blow to Liverpool's hopes of securing a top four finish if they do lose their top scorer.

When Mane was away at the Africa Cup of Nations in January, Liverpool failed to win a single Premier League game.

Arsenal will go on an unbeaten run now until the end of the season. They always do it and will get 4th.

Orrrrrrrrr, maybeeeeeeeer, not Dave lol
That was a shock last night to me. I thought with all their talk of having their game faces on for 'lesser' opposition they might have the actual focus to do it.

I still think they will get that top 4 spot though. The key is the next two games against Stoke and WBA - two dead ball specialist outfits and, therefore, the stiffest of tests for "Big Red" on the run in.

If they do get it Dave, it'll be entirely down the other teams failing harder than they do

Similar to us, as soon as they start talking about being focused they turn up anything but.

That's now 5 games without mane playing, 0 wins, 3 draws, 2 losses. Manes out for the season as well. Actually think we will finish annoyingly close to them yanno...

If they do get top 4, and it is a big IF granted, this will be a pivotal moment. The money taps will turn on and the quality of player they attract will be impressive.

Mane is a big loss, but they still have firepower, and if they galvanise like we know they can the fixtures are winnable. I think other clubs will knacker themselves, and that will also because they have to play each other, unlike Liverpool now.

I'm not so sure Dave, they'd need to spend 150m just to give them a squad big enough to cope with Europe and domestic fixtures without even strengthening much, throw in an extra 10-12 massive games that they have to turn up for and they will be dead on their feet by February. No winter break, a manager who doesn't like a big squad and who doesn't rotate except due to injuries. And who is too stubborn too change.

CL is being touted by them as some holy grail, in reality it will see them struggle badly.

Their also running out of saleable assets to sell to buy, any big spending spree will see them having to lose one of the key players.

Also read a piece recently which highlighted klopps poor final record as being a direct result of his tactics, finals usually at the end of a long season and by that point his teams running on empty. Can actually envisage a Newcastle like title collapse under klopp in one season

This is what cements that top 4 place for the beauts for me. Man U have still got to play Man City, Arsenal, Spurs away and Chelsea at home, one of their games in hand is the City game, also they've still got the Europa league.

Arsenal have got Man City, Man U, us and Spurs to play. They'll fold against Stoke and Palace away.

Man City on paper have the easier run in, so it's just a case of who finishes in those third and fourth places between them and the RS for me.
