Got to apologise for bringing Hillsborough into it, to anyone offended I apologise - it just boils my piss that they (LFC) have the gaul to brush a tragedy under the carpet that they are responsible for, yet use Hillsborough as a tool... Also hate the way they market JFT96, but that's a whole other discussion.

it's not about points scoring at the end of the day, yes, some evertonians are possibly guilty of that, but their club is the scum of the earth, mainly because of this very episode. No willingness to accept responsibility, nothing to suggest they were sorry, and no attempt to improve the relations and that was toed along by the majority of their fans. It is a victim mentality in which the song was created about, where they just ignore all facts about numbers of arrests etc.

The pathetic attempt of building relations with juve back in 2005 was nothing more of a PR stunt of that shoddy disgusting club, nothing more than that, it's what they've done throughout their history. If they'd never drawn juve, they still wouldn't have done anything by now. It was a simple case of "oh look at us, look how good we can be offering a peace offering". It was akin to a man who goes on jeremy kyle and says "yeah, she should leave me after what i've done, i deserve it", with them actually wanting the lass to leave them and knowing full well she won't.

And they are the media darlings, unbelievable.

Dominic Solanke looks a decent bit of business for them, very promising young player. Would've happily taken him as back up to Rom.

i'l take @catcherintherye's view on this as he watches a lot of youth footy and says he's struggled since young boys have caught up with him in regards of physicality. I often played against people who were a lot larger at youth level, they can just out-muscle you and beat you in the air and you can't do anything about it. Doesn't mean they're talented though and one day it will always catch up with them. Like has been said, if he was any good chelsea would be at least putting in an effort to keep him, they put a lot of effort into keeping players who they have no intention of playing first team football.

i honestly don't get it. I don't get why so many people "support" them, i'd feel utterly ashamed if that was my club, but then again, most of their support are people who don't know one iota about either football, or such events, because their influence in the media means it's covered up so much.

He has never played a senior game in this country so how you've managed to ascertain that I'll never know.

Think he got 40+ goals for Chelsea U21's before he was shipped out to Holland, also fee will be nominal (2-3m) so its not a massive risk. I understand as an Everton fan you're automatically meant to assume that all of their players are crap - but i think he's a good buy.

No one is assuming he's crap, but there is absolutely nothing to suggest he would be able to do a job as backup to Lukaku. We might as well just keep Calvert-Lewin to do that role, he's actually done more in his career to date tbh.

Fair point, I just think given his record at youth level - and his relatively good record in Dutch football. For 2-3m there's very little chance he would be a poor signing. Especially with this English premium we are currently experiencing.

Van Wolfswinkel and Jozy Altidore both have better records in Dutch football than Solanke, and have a worse Premier League record than DCL. Solanke may develop into a good player, but there's nothing to suggest he's be good backup to Lukaku.
