I am not against him being compact in defence for his team to win, what would be poor is the attitude that Mourinho shows which is to sit his players on the edge of their own box in big games continuously.

Liverpool have far more punching power than Everton and would relish the opportunity to counter Everton with men up the pitch, with 2 of the quickest players in the league. It would be suicide for Everton to send a young fullback and Cuco Martina too far forward, and not have midfield players sufficiently disciplined to protect them.
If Allardyce set up to do anything other than park the bus, given the mismatch in form and quality and time they've had with their two managers of the two teams it would be a really foolish move for Everton in my opinion.
