ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

I thought Coutinho not being there would stifle their goals

They have a ridiculous front 3.

How the hell can they still be averaging 2-3 goals a game with no drop off when Coutinho isn't there, their midfield has no bonafied play maker.

Portugal is such a awful league, bossing that league unbeaten all season in 26 and get spanked at home, pathetic.

Beating trash teams by loads of goals is what they do. Quality teams have caused them problems all season home and away. If they’re away second leg next round id fancy any one to put them out. They’re basing their run at this on getting the easiest draw on each round with the second leg at home each time. At some point they will have to play someone decent.

To be fair, their Modus Operandi over the past year or so is more inclined to be, lose to Swansea, lose to West Brom in the FA Cup, then turn around and beat Manchester City and a series of Champions League teams.

Teams that can frustrate them and nick a goal or two from their shaky set-piece defending seems to be the way to go. Teams that have a go at them can sometimes leave themselves exposed to an admittedly very good counter-attacking side.

Credit where it's due - that attack is fantastic.

It's a shame for them that it's a castle built on sand waiting to collapse due to the rest of the team.

Yeah, they'll do that in the odd one off game, especially against B tier European opposition. Fortunately, there's a few teams left in that competition who will expose them ruthlessly.

You cant see Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern, City doing them over two legs?

Pfffft!

...and I'd take United to beat them over two games too. Jose knows how to get the job done.

No, I can see that, what I mean is those teams are going to be wide open against them. This means both legs will be an absolute free for all in terms of attacking and goalscoring. Those teams definitely have the potential to outscore them, but then it could well go the other way too. You can't play into their hands and get away with it, as the runaway Premier League leaders found out recently.

Most of their success under Klopp is based on the mass media coverage football now gets and as a result, the mass hysteria that follows a defensive display. Look at the frenzy mourinho causes when he sets up defensively. It's so easy to set up against Klopp, hence why allardyce and pullis have no trouble. But all the other managers seem to feel the need to be open and expressive in case of being ridiculed by the media.

Big difference between those teams I mentioned and Liverpool: they are consistent in the way they turn up and play efficient and ruthless football...Liverpool are Jekyll and Hyde....and even on their best day they'd never beat Madrid or Barcelona.

I read plenty of times people didn’t mind them being in the champions league or going through because they’ll get battered this is what I hate and worry about . They may well get hammered and knocked out in the next round but they’ve just put five unanswered goals away passed Porto and at the very least it’s a boost to their confidence .

I want them out as soon as possible , this is probably a better side than the last time they won it so let’s avoid another fluke and have them knocked out as soon as possible so we can all enjoy the rest of the competition .
