ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

When speaking to two Red friends this morning, their views were polar opposites with regards to their chances in the Champions League.

One, quite hilariously, claimed their attack as 'by far the best in Europe' which would 'totally dominate' the likes of Real, Barca and PSG.

While I reluctantly admitted that their defence was lethal, to claim it was far better than teams with Messi, Neymar and Ronaldo is fanciful.

The other was much more cautious saying they'd face some imperious forward lines along the way while having a rather shaky defence.

Anyway, they rather quickly ended up arguing between each other while I just listened on!

..I fear the way they play gives them a real chance. I just hope the loss of Coutinho is the deciding factor. They have the ability to beat Real Madrid, they have the inability to lose to West Brom and Swansea. They are dangerous, yet they are fallible.

That Kopite Muslim song is racist to the core and the media give them a polite clap and a pat on the back for being japesters.

"If he's good enough for you, he's good enough for me
If he scores another few then I'll be Muslim too".

That is not a million miles away from the "I'd rather be a P*k*" racist chanting of the 70s and 80s". It's on that same level of white men comparing themselves favourably with Asians...or in this case, Arabs. Basically, in the times we live in, it's saying "we'd even become filthy Jihadists if he scores loads for us...that's how much we dont care about anything else other than Liverpool winning...that'd how ultra we are"

The stink of racism is all over it.

I think the difference is two legs.
Any team left in it now is capable of scoring against them home and away.
Fantastic players in Salah and Firmino, the rest will go missing against the likes of Real and Barca.

It's very sensitive territory that they wandered into but as you infer nobody should be surprised at the happy-clappy media reaction. If this sentiment was expressed in politics or business, apology and resignation would be required.

We have Moshiri as one of the subjects of a Panorama investigation aired at primetime whilst they get encouragement for this.

Mind you this is the same lot that succeeded in airbrushing Heysel from history or at least the truth behind it. They'll demand and receive an award next for facilitating diversity and inclusion in football.

The song is appalling.

Salah - a member of a group viewed as both inferior and a danger to the majority white population - is deemed "good enough", but only if he scores goals for Liverpool. And if he does that then Liverpool supporters would even stoop as low as to go and worship in a Mosque, just like the inferior and dangerous Muslims do.

Oh how we all laughed at the jolly Kopite japesters and their refreshing take on the use of racist imagery.

Brilliant. It's like the opposite of a sectarian chant. Bringing religions together!

It also eloquently displays how enamoured Liverpool fans have been with their Summer arrival from Roma.

Just read that.

They just don’t see how offensive this song is to the millions upon millions of decent, honest, peace loving Muslims worldwide.

Has there actually been any negative reaction from muslims with regard to it ? I mean he has a huge fanbase of muslims in Egypt and yet I've not seen anyone raging about it anywhere, in-fact you can clearly see on Twitter that lots of muslims are loving it. Salah has said he loves the song as well...

Im going to be honest, I think you guys are being a little over sensitive here and trying to take offence on behalf of others who as far as one can tell aren't arsed about it in the slightest... unless of course you're muslim in which case I'll pipe down.

Salah loves the song? I’d be very surprised if he did. I’m not Muslim no but I wouldn’t sing that song.
