It's kept them up there as contenders (at times anyway). If a club has a rich tradition of strikers the bar is set high and others strikers they buy respond to the challenge. Good scouting helps to, but it can be explained by cultural norms/standards.

To be honest, when they get like that, they would do anyone at anfield. I actually think if they get Bayern in the final they will walk it.

They've faced no one of importance. City are a team they always beat anyway. Roma are not top notch. If they'd faced any of Barca, Bayern or Madrid by now they'd have been out. The only concern I have is if they get off to a big start in the final. But the final will be a huge step up in class.

couple of my mates were at the last one, said it was ok during the day, but the short walk back to the coaches outside the ground afterwards was horrific, these were lads that had been everywhere with them over the years, when hooligans having a go was the norm, so it must of been bad for them to comment.

The Rome Constabulary like to get involved as well, remember the Utd fan that was about 60, got batoned to bits in his seat.

My uncle was there for the 84 final and says the police kept the fans behind for about 10 minutes, just enough time for all the ultras to congregate outside

Agreed but if them helmets hadn’t been jumping on police vans and diverting police priorities towards a poxy coach ‘welcoming’ then the police might of been in a better position to stop people getting stabbed .
