EFC Head of Medicine Danny Donachie has left the club

That could be part of the problem though, he's not a practicing Physiotherapist and possibly isn't up to speed with the latest findings or beliefs.

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing - or so we are led to believe.

Maybe he is suggesting different treatment plans to what Martinez believes and it isn't a healthy working relationship. One thing is clear though, we have lost Dave Billows to Newcastle and we're NOT fit this season (maybe a factor in all the twanged muscles) and we have now lost the head of Medicine department.

He better have some hotshot from ER lined up. (We'll end up with some extra from Casualty who was also on The Bill...as 4 different people)

Well yeah Danny would be the man with the overall idea of treatment, recovery plans etc and then they are fed back to the fitness and psyios.

Mick left because of disagreements with individuals own personal trainers, no doubt Danny has issues there. Then you have Martinez and his own beleifs and the staff who Martinez brought in who will also have the same / similar beliefs as him.

Steve and Dave leaving has obviously had a massive effect on the fitness of players and the recovery as well.

Despite what the echo have reported, no physio has ever gotten a team into Europe. Knives being sharpened for Martinez there, wonder where the echo got their scoops from inside finch farm.?

A top physio certainly has a big part to play in the clubs fortunes though. If his methods kept a small squad of players fit and available then he deserves credit. There has obviously been a clash here though and one of these men think they know better. Is Martinez rushing players back or has Donachie given some bad advice?

I also find it funny how Wigan had awful injury records, could it be that Mr Stubborn maybe is stubborn when It comes to treatment also?

Newcastle have an even worse injury record than us so at first glance it doesn't look like we are missing him much.

United demoted one of their medical guys recently didn't they @Jim Lahey as LVG was unhappy with the squad fitness?

You know what they say, 'Laughter is the best medicine' and I heard he has a killer 5 minutes.

Something something 'bitter pill to swallow', something else 'taste of his own medicine', blah blah 'prescription for success', any old pun 'that healing feeling'.

To be fair, Steve (Tashijan) left at the end of last season because he wanted go to home to America.

Oh yeah I know but he would have been integral to pre-season planning etc, after all he had worked with Moyes setting up the plans for the first pre-season Martinez took charge of.
