Ellis Simms stepping up in place of Kean?

Would You Have Simms Step Up This Season?

  • Yes. He plays well at youth level and I think he's ready

Disappointed cheesey garlic bread hasn’t got more votes

Can we have VAR look at it?
I’m going to hold a silent vigil and protest March outside Wensleydale town hall, I am just getting the massive banners printed up. Once they are ready for collection I will pm you mate? I am also considering raising a parliamentary question about it too. Oh yes, I also want the OP banned for GoT for the same length of time I had to go without cheese while my cholesterol levels were brought down to sub-imminent death levels!

I'd rather have a specialist striker play if DCL is injured/rested so for me that means promoting last year's under 23 centre forward. Someone earlier mentioned that Gordon played up front for the under 23's so he'd be my go to player with Simms behind him if needed.

Alternatively, we could go for the Walter Smith approach and play Niels, i.e. a player out of position.

Please do. We will get the justice we deserve.

Bit raw to be anything but a bit part player at this stage of his career ,
But I would bet even now he would score goals if called on, he just looks to have that knack about him.

Maybe so, but again DCl gets an injury or needs a rest who do we play up front? Richy out. Tosun not back. Simms must be the next option even for a cameo give Dom a breather.

Interesting to see if he makes the bench this weekend. If he can't make the match day squad with Richarlison and James both out I think it's probably fair to assume he isn't remotely close to a call up.

Judging by the amount of injuries we have I expect he will be in the 18 on Sunday. If we can have game wrapped up it would be nice for him to get a few minutes.

Could still probably put out a bench like this even with the injuries:

Olsen
JJK (if he’s fit and Godfrey starts)
Nkonkou
Davies
Sigurdsson
Delph
Gordon

But you’re right it would be an ominous sign if Carlo went for no attacking options on the bench rather than giving Simms a spot.

Would love him to come on and break out this season. Would really add to the momentum we have and push us on to great things.

Get him on the pitch and let’s see, DCL was raw, Simms needs to get to see the speed of the game and be familiar with the type of defenders he will face long term.
Defo needs to be on the bench for the next 3 games!
