Yes, but imo he isn’t going to save us from relegation, probably need to spend big (and wisely) to do that.

Sunderland fan in peace here,

Naturally I’m disappointed in losing Simms, he’s frustrating at times and often gets lost in games but as we’ve seen on numerous times this season he pops up when it counts, he’s a very typical old fashioned No9.

A lot of Sunderland fans say we don’t need him as we have Stewart but that’s a load of [Poor language removed], we’d be mid table without him.

I’m not sure he’s going to solve your issues mind, what he’s going to be doing with you now is a massive step up from Wigan, Blackpool and Hull.

Best of luck, stick with him, worse comes to worse you could easily ship him for 10-15

He has earned his chance in our first team.

I guess we've been looking at the market and seeing who we can get in with Simms as the benchmark. If they're not better than simms then there's no point getting them.

Pretty worrying to be honest because we definitely need more.

We need forward options. Simms has done his learning, it’s time to see if he can take his chance with us. Im sure the intention is to use him off the bench. However if DCL breaks down again, I think he is more of a target man than Maupay.

Pleased Frank has complemented us in how we have looked after Simms, we have put a boatload of resources into player development which is starting to reap benefits -

I watched Simms a lot last season at Hearts and this at Sunderland, I think he has the makings of a champions league level striker in all honesty - a new Drogba. Can't wait to see him doing the business in the royal blue. UTFT!
