Impossible situation for him. Didn’t do the bare minimum though. If we go down it’s on the board and recruitment more than anything for not getting a couple of adequate goal scorers. Was the right call to start Simms in this type of game in my opinion. Leeds might be a different story.

He played pretty much as I expected him to tonight, he’s not ready to start and lead our attack in the PL yet. The reality is though he’s one of the few options we’ve got upfront and for all his deficiencies Dyche needs to help him develop further and to play in a system that doesn’t leave him stranded on his own , maybe as a two with Gray along side him .

Probably judge him on everything he’s done in football so far then. He’s not a Prem level player. IMO.

Maupay is better

Of course he is...maupay scored for fun in the championship...still not good enough for Premier league football. Convinced that dyche is making a point that if you're not working hard enough in training you're not going to play. Maupay I am sure was convinced that he would be starting with dcl no show all week. Hopefully that does the trick and he starts to work harder.

He's had hardly any minutes in the prem.
Judging your logic only lads who score a hat trick in their debut have any future in the game.
Football doesn't work like that.

Reminds me of when Pennington was thrown into a derby out of nowhere, don’t think he made another appearance.
I think the lack of options means Simms may get another go, he was isolated but didn’t put in a shift either.
