Rough game to judge his future Everton career on, I'll give him a few more failures before booing him and telling everyone who will listen how crap he is.

What did concern me was that he really didn't put himself about. He's a huge man, you would, at least expect to see him battling.

That is something i have noticed a few times with him. Same down at chelsea last season. Ok we get you aint getting great service. But bust a gut lad.

I will never criticise one of ours publicly (especially against them) , but you absolutely would expect 1 million per cent effort. So I agree mate.
Perhaps the occaision got to him ?

Looked overweight and is if he was running in quick sand. I didn’t expect much from him, but he could have put himself about. Offered no physicality at all. Their two centre back won’t have an easier game.

This is exactly what Sunderland fans said about him. He doesn’t like the physical stuff. They couldn’t believe we requested him back.

Looking back now, us recalling him should’ve set alarm bells ringing for the lack of transfers.

I expect he'll get another go against weaker opposition at some point, but it doesn't look like there's much there.

If the ball doesn't stick, you've got have either electric pace or ruthless finishing.

At least for his sake, he seems to be able to do it at lower levels.

Oh for people saying “but he’s a young lad”. Liverpool had a lad even younger playing who was throwing tackles in all game and was man of the match.

Maupay from the start and the mood in the side is different imo.

We needed someone snapping at their CB's heels early doors and getting in their heads/winning us cheap free kicks to put balls into the box and try make the crowd nervy.

Not saying the result would have been different but you lead from the front and we had a pussycat leading the line tonight.

Should stick mina up front, he really would get right in their heads, be living there rent free for a long time after too
