He was awful when he come on though. He plays the wknd gone he would have scored one of them chances. Get him in the team and leave him there.
We created chances and think Simms would have taken one of them. Dont think hes up to the standard but Id give him the run of games. He created a chance the wknd at least. He was awful when he come on though.
Think him and maupay would both benefit with playing together. 1 upfront doesn't work, dyche built his career at Burnley with 2 upfront so bit weird he's not yet tried it, especially given our horrific goal return.
I do get he wants to keep it tighter in the middle Witt 3 CMS, but Saturday for example we were a goal or two down, at home in a a game we need to ideally win and he's swapped strikers rather than partner them, meaning Simms had the exact same problems as muapay did when he come on.We created chances and think Simms would have taken one of them. Dont think Dyche trusts taking a body out of midfield to go 2 up top atm. If you could trust one of the lads up top to be responsible to drop in on the the other teams holding mid when we dont have the ball it would work as it did at Burnley but dont think we are there hence Doucoure is there. Personally think iwobi better suited there and would get Gray into team out wide .
Yes was very frustrating and a bit too late at that stageI do get he wants to keep it tighter in the middle Witt 3 CMS, but Saturday for example we were a goal or two down, at home in a a game we need to ideally win and he's swapped strikers rather than partner them, meaning Simms had the exact same problems as muapay did when he come on.
Needed to be a bit braver with that sub
About 4 non tap ins from 20something goals and still a fair few shocking misses.
I get it, it's his level, but he only works okay with a 2nd striker next to him and a team that can feed him chances - he currently has neither and can't hit a barn door with his 50p feet.
In a 4-4-2 he might, MIGHT, be okay, but as a decent lone striker option he's absolutely dreadful.

I want to believe you, I really do. But what, if anything, is this based on?He plays the wknd gone he would have scored one of them chances. Get him in the team and leave him there.
The way I see it is if we'd started the season with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Simms, we'd be pretty happy with buying Maupay in January.
Maupay has proven to be a top flight striker in the past, Simms has not. Maupay isn't an ideal fit for a Dyche team to say the least but he's throwing Onana further forward to offer the physical side of things in the final third (and keeping his lack of technical quality away from midfield to boot) so let's just keep at it.
Yeah Brighton aren't a team that are solely dependent on there strikers, the lad never understood pressure until he walked through our doorsSome are quick to forget that. He played regular for a good top flight side.
BIg difference obviously is they were a decent well balanced side with technically gifted players. He was a cog in that well oiled set up.
Here? Well none of the above basically.
